Was definitely unnecessary roughness. Was inside 5 yards of the LOS. Easton Dean got hurt against Ohio on a very similar play where he was completely blown up by a linebacker (enough that he got the wind knocked out of him) and it was completely legal.
It doesn't matter where it occurs in college - there is no illegal contact and 5 yard rule. As long as the pass isn't thrown it's legal to hit and make contact with receivers.

It was an personal foul for unnecessary roughness. They call these for hits or blocks away from the play. However, the only way that play can be a penalty is if the ball is thrown already and it's on the other side of the field and downfield, to the point that it's pretty clear that the players in question are not going to be a factor in the play.

Was camping this weekend with no cell service or internet. Didn't get to watch and haven't rewatched, although I had heard at one point we were down 31-14. Accurate to say Baylor is that much better than us, or was ISU really just getting hosed that much? Saw Dekkers threw 2 picks, and maybe that was the difference in the game? I plan to watch the replay, but just wanted some opinions first. I was kind of shocked to hear we were down that much at home.

3 laughable calls on Freyler, Reeder & Johnson with the block below the waist on a defender absolutely atrocious. But the 3rd quarter was our demise offensively. I remember how embarrassing the picture of Rhodes on his knees pleading with an official was. Had the same feeling when CMC went into hysterics on the sideline while the announcer stated he had a history of remaining calm. Justified or not it doesn’t help the team. His timeout to then enable him to get in an officials grill was the correct procedure. I expect he will have them motivated in Lawrence. They need to be.
My wife who knows nothing about football was like "but he is the defensive guy. He isn't blocking anyone, because he is on defense."

I said, when I say ISU is getting screwed this is what I mean. LETTER #5 COMING?

Yes. Prepare to get really pissed off within the first 5 minutes, and continue being pissed the rest of the game.

Baylor was only the better team for third quarter but REALLY dominated third quarter.

ISU won first half by at least 11 points yet trailed by 3 on scoreboard because it was so rigged.

Only watch the game if you want to see a scripted fake WWE match for first half.
