I know what you mean. In the summer the cats kind of rotate on & off the bed...but in the winter, when hubby has his electric blanket going, EVERYONE is on the bed...it gets tough to move sometimes with them anchoring the covers around us. :)

Well, the seizures have gotten worse and she went back to the vet yesterday. 14 seizures yesterday between home and the vet.

He just called this morning, and despite everything to calm things down, she's having them every 15 minutes. So, when my wife gets home in a few minutes, we're going to have to make the decision. I just hate that . She is a great dog.

Sorry to hear about that. Dogs rock. We just put down our 7yr old golden two months ago and it was not easy at all. Thoughts and prayers with you.

So tough. As an animal lover the most compassionate thing you can do is fully step out of your shoes as human/"owner" and make those amazingly tough decisions solely in the best interest of your friend.

Best of luck in your decision.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Pride. It sounds like you two have been through a lot. I don't know much about her case aside from what I have seen posted here, but some animals will have breakthrough seizures and require multiple anticonvulsants for proper control. It may be worth inquiring about additional medications that could be added. On the other hand, after all you guys have gone through I can also understand saying, "Enough is enough." It is a very tough spot. Please let me know if I can be of any help, my thoughts are with your family.

I feel for you. I had a tiger salamander that I had grabbed as a mudpuppy for fish bait. Decided to keep a couple to see what they became. 17 years later I still had on of them. I know, stupid salamander right, but when the only way they would ever eat was by hand feeding, them actually enjoying hanging out on my shoulder when company was over and I guess just having it for 17 years (had 3 total, one died at 10, the other at 13) it was a tough day when I had to have it put down. Double whammy that we were taking the 17 year old cat in that same day. But it had tumors, couldn't walk and couldn't eat very well anymore, it really broke my heart. I still think of that goofy thing and almost tear up.

So anyways, ramblings aside, I feel your pain, it's tough to have to make that decision, no matter what.
