Except if the refs had not blown the even more obvious goaltend call, then OU would have had 2 point lead, and KU would have been forced to foul at end, Mason play never happens. Fun to play this game.

OK, I'll give you that one then I'll trump that with the BS call on Mason for fouling Hield at the end of the 1st half that led to a technical on Self and three made throws for OU instead of the 2 points for KU on the easy run out lay up following the clearly clean steal. 5 point swing on that call not to mention Mason having to guard Hield with an extra foul tacked on him the entire 2nd half.

So that's 2 points to OU for the goal tend and 7 to Kansas for the two bad calls against Mason. Looks like KU wins by five.

My apologies, I meant that it is only a technical foul if he touches the ball before it crosses the plane. Can you can tell by the video he was over the inside part of the plane?

Buddy should have used the 3 foot area to get around Mason. Only needing one foot in that space gives him basically 6 feet to work with.

After a made basket you can run around to inbounds the ball, but it is a travel to move your feet on a inbounds like this. Or has this changed and I don't know it. It was a ridiculous play in this game, very unfair.

Seems like there is a lot of misunderstanding related to in-bounds plays, including my own misunderstanding. That is why I started this thread apart from the OU/KU thread. See my previous post (#127) for an excerpt and link. You cannot travel while out of bounds.

Ok, I'll play this game... There was a 2nd interference/goaltend that was not called on another layup by Hield, somewhere in the 2nd half. It was swiped after it hit the glass. Although not as obvious as the first one, it was still missed.

Tuco, you shouldn't use the technical fouls shots in this game... that was a result of Self being Self. And most of these missed calls (again I think this game was officiated well and certainly fair for an AFH game) happened early enough for both teams to recover.

The only issue is the obvious and glaring inbound play that wasn't right and at a crucial time.

Points are points. Points scored at 1 minute into the game are worth the same as points scored at the last 0.1 second of the game.
The difference is the other team has ample opportunity to score points of their own in one of those instances. The other...not so much.

I get that. Doesn't discount them. Points are points. You don't get an extra 'makeup' possession when a bad call happens early in a game.

You can move within the 3-foot wide inbounding area, it's not like a typical "travel" on the court, you don't have to stay completely set.

There were plenty of missed and wrong calls throughout the game. That doesn't change the fact that the league is allowing KU to use a non compliant court. And in this case it became a huge issue in an otherwise epic game.

Eh, WUT? Do you think Self gets a technical if Mason isn't called for that ridiculous foul? Come on. And if your rule for a foul being a big deal is that there was still time for the team that got screwed to recover then tell every ISU fan that complains about the foul on EJ by Niang to shut up because they still had a five minute OT to "recover". Talk about hypocrisy at its finest. What a joke.
