Which is TOTALLY illegal by NCAA rules. In a DOB type roll they are not supposed to have ANY involvement in the basketball or on court actions. They are to be strictly administrators.

Not illegal.

11.7.1.1.1.1.1 Exception—Noncoaching Staff Member with Sport-Specific Responsibilities.
A noncoaching staff member with sport-specific responsibilities (e.g., director of operations, administrative assistant) may participate in organized activities involving only the coaching staff or may perform administrative duties (e.g., attend meetings involving coaching activities, analyze video of the institution’s or an opponent’s team, track statistics during practice or competition). However, such an individual is prohibited from participating in instructional activities with student-athletes and any on-court or on-field activities (e.g., assist with drills, throw batting practice), and is prohibited from participating with or observing student-athletes in the staff member’s sport who are engaged in nonorganized voluntary athletically related activities (e.g., pick-up games).

We just plain missed left and right. It was an perfect storm for OSU. I doubt we'll see it again like we did Sunday.
I agree with this, for some reason, we lost our confidence, and didn't bounce back. I don't think it will happen like that again. We needed a wake up call.

Here are things I don't get. Why is Prins, 16 games into the season, still shooting 3's? She is not a threat from there. She is not going to surprise the defense or draw them out from underneath. Most other teams probably hope she does keep shooting it. To me, that is poor coaching, or at the very least, a lack of attention to detail. It drives me nuts everytime I see her shoot it. Of course, it drives me nuts too that Anna still cannot seem to jump more than about 3 inches on anything....a shot, a put-back, a rebound, defense.....anything. Honestly, I am not sure I have ever seen another female player who uses her height advantage to a lesser degree.

If she hits a couple tonight, and Baylor has to bring their monster out to cover that shot, it totally opens things up for others. And she wanted to come somewhere where she could play to her strengths, which is obviously more the finesse game than the shotblocking game. She has improved her rebounding drastically this year. I think that was as much confidence in not getting injured as anything. BF did say a couple years ago that she has the best form on her 3 of anyone on the team. She has obviously been coached and worked hard on it. This is ISU, EVERYone needs to shoot 3s here!

Somewhere in the U.S.

She may have been the best 3 point shot on the team a couple of years ago (she wasn't) but she is not that this year. I'm sorry......but you don't let someone who is hitting about 16 percent of her three point shots shoot that shot as a regular part of your offense. Form doesn't mean a damn thing if you can't hit the shot.

She has improved her rebounding by 1.5 rebounds per game. I guess that is dramatic, considering she only got about 4.5 a game last year. If she had only averaged 3 a game last year, it would be even more dramatic. Still......think about it.....a 6 foot 7 player playing against players usually 3 or 4 inches shorter than her can still not average more than 6 rebounds a game for the season, despite playing a weak non-conference schedule.

Against Baylor tonight...she has made a 3, and made one of her other 6 shots. But that 3 she made has so befuddled the Baylor defense, and opened things up for ISU that Baylor has allowed ISU to score a grand total of 16 points in the first half, fewer than they scored in the first half at Baylor.

Sorry.....I don't buy it. She should not be shooting the 3, and should be concentrating on her post moves and finishing under the basket. No team is going to respect her 3 point shooting when she hits less than 20 percent of them.

Where was all the outrage when Kelsey Bolte was in a shooting slump her junior year? She should have stopped shooting.

Why don't you go have a talk with the coach, since he doesn't allow what he doesn't want.

Why aren't you the head coach, you seem to know all the answers.

You could be right, but I'll reserve judgement until after they come to Ames and hit a few other road locations. Like KU, they win at home...struggle on the road. That's a recipe for a 6 loss conference season.

As evidenced tonight losing to KSU who has no starter over 5"11.

One, she wouldn't be here if she didn't have the green light to shoot from 3. And two, BF is at every practice, and knows who can and can't shoot the 3. Three, it opens up the offensive floor when she hits, or they think she might hit it. We use the strategy that gives us the best chance to win. Posts can shoot the 3, its the way we play.

And tonight OSU loses at home to WVU. WVU stayed tough and got the close one that had been eluding them. OSU has been like a yo-yo in the polls. Up, down, up, down. They might fall down a little farther this time. They never should have put their starters back in against our bench. Bad karma. They messed with the basketball gods.
