but I assume that some people are sports fans and take the opportunity to represent their team, regardless of who's playing.

As someone who's attempting to go to a home game at every D1 FBS football stadium, I always rock an ISU hat. It gets a lot of attention in usually good ways. Always easy to start a conversation during tailgating which has lead to lots of free drinks. Also helps when our team is winning I've noticed. :)

They wear their gear to all kinds of events that they aren't involved in... or invited to, for that matter.

You can’t miss ‘em. It’s as if it’s their entire wardrobe. I mean, who goes to SeaWorld decked out head-to-toe in black and gold (saw a family of them a week ago). It’s not like Shamu is going to be impressed!

When I was at the ISU-KSU football game in Manhattan in 2015 (I don't want to talk about it), we saw multiple Hawk fans. One had a sign that said something about being both a hawk and wildcat fan and they hate ISU, the other was a concessions worker selling lemonade (fitting lol) wearing a hawkeye hat and trying to rile up all of us Clones in our nosebleeds.
