Fred is probably hoping that Ejim, Hogue, Kane and Morris all play about 37 minutes. That would leave 6 minutes for Edozie and 46 split between Thomas and Long.

How many times have we played zone this year? At this point in the season we are who we are ... We ain't playing zone tomorrow.

Thank you. Jesus, I don't know why people jump to us playing zone when we've pretty much not played it all year. Switching to a defense we haven't played or practiced suddenly with a one day turn around sounds like probably one of the worst things that you could ever possibly do.

My guess would be Hogue, Ejim, Kane, Long, Morris? Thomas takes Long's minutes, Edozie takes Thomas's and maybe Gibson or SDW get the sparing minutes that normally would go to Edozie?

My guess is the same as yours. I think Hoiberg will then see how it works out and adjust accordingly.

this. teams dont just decide willy nilly to play zone. zone doesnt work at all if you aren't very proficient at it. it isn't something you just implement in a day of practice the day before the most important game of your season.

we will play the same D we have all year. If we play our game, at our pace, and we hit our shots we'll send Roy and the powder blues packing

I'd agree, Long will start. I doubt Freddy wants to throw Edozie to the wolves at the opening tip. He'll be subbed into the game before the 15 minute mark though.

I'll guess it depends on Naz hitting 3's/how our offense is running vs. getting pounded down low. If the offense is humming, we'll run with it. If not, and we're getting punished on the boards, in Edozie goes.

Regardless of who starts or gets whatever minutes, I hope that we are the aggressor. I hope that we play ISU basketball and keep those ******* on their tar heels all game long.

Go State!

Why is anybody inverting our defense? Georges was the worst defender of anybody who played reasonable minutes.

Also, no way we play zone. We're going to struggle keeping McAdoo and co. off the offensive glass as it is. Zone will make it far worse.

I think Long starts but Edozie and Gibson handle a bout 2/3 of Georges minutes. Defensively it allows the other four to match up better assignments size wise. Offensively Ejim can step into Georges roll up top, Hogue steps out wide and crashes, while Edozie or a limited amount of Gibson hide low on the weak side where DH has thrived.

A perfect combined stat line for Edozie and Gibson would be 10 points, 10 rebounds, and at least 9 fouls in less than 25 minutes.

I really Hope Fred starts Edozie ... It would not only help his confidence going into the game... but it might help slow down , just a bit, what has to be Roy Williams game plan... Bang it inside ... over and over again... for the purpose of getting Hogue and Ejim in Foul trouble early in the game.
