if we play like we're capable of playing then we will win by 10. if we play sloppy, turn the ball over, and make bad decisions, NIU could easily walk out of ames with a win.

My money is on the clones, but I don't think that NIU should be taken lightly

If we play a perfect game and only win by 10....

Then my predictions are as follows.

Iowa blowout loss
K-State- loss
Uni- narrow win
Utah- loss
Oklahoma-loss
Texas-loss
Kansas-toss up
Nebraska-loss
Colorado- win
Missouri- loss

Going to be a long flippin season

From what i hear, NI is a good enough team to hang around for the first half. I see it as 17-6 halftime with the game eventually becoming in hand at 31-13 or so.

Not sure where the OP got his facts from but they return 7 starters on O and 9 on D.

They played close with USF into the 4th Q before the Bulls grounded out a win. USF was better than ISU last year.

They have knocked off many BCS teams and scared many over the past few years.

They return most of their team from a year ago and are the favorites in the MAC from many publications.

just a few reasons to think they may provide a tough game.

It's funny how similar the thread on the NIU board is to the NDSU boards last year. NIU is better (a lot better, actually), but I still think we beat them. It'll probably be tougher than I'd like, but I have faith in this team. 27-17 Clones.

It's ludicrous to compare NDSU boards to NIU boards:wink:

You're right, though. It's the exact same thing in terms of fan comments.

I'm just disappointed (or maybe relieved?) that nobody named "LakesHuskie" has shown up here yet:wink:

I am not sure where I saw 4 defensive starters back, it took me quite a while to find the number of returning starters. It also sounds like they are having a major rebuild on their OL, so 7 or 8 returners on O looks unlikely.

This thread makes me almost as nervous as this game. It's a trap with Iowa the next weekend.

You are making a really good point. I am quite sure our guys have spent some time on Iowa already. But we really have No Ill outmanned. If we take care of the football, we win by 2 TD's.

The match up vs Iowa of our O-line vs their D line will be one of the best of the year in D-1. If our D line can be effective vs there o-line.................

That is going to be a real football fan's game.

"supposed" to?

Anyway, the reason that NIU is supposed to be so good is that so many ISU fans think that ISU is supposed to be so bad.

How do you know that???? They have an extra long week to prepare for Iowa and I'm sure Paul and crew will not overlook anyone.

But I'm not quite sure about it.

No doubt about it.

I just went on there website and viewed a couple of threads. In one they're talking about how they'll beat us because this is their best team since 2003. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we beat them in 2003? Or was that 2004? If it was 2003, that was one of the worst teams we've had in a while.
