Cam is playing like LaRon Dendy when he’s got the potential of Kelvin Cato.
Cam could be a rim running game changer.

Michael Jacobsen is playing much, much better.

I really, really want Cam to succeed here. I hope he can.

I am not falling for Lard being out of shape. Something more is going on. These athletes have been work on conditioning year around. I understand CM was absent this summer but he's been back in campus since school started. If he is out of shape that is on the coaches and himself. I just get a feeling there is more to this story! We can sugar coat and make up excuses, bottom line where there is smoke there is fire...sorry but I'm not falling for the conditioning bit at all!
OP, this is only your 128th post in over 12 years...Where you been keeping yourself? o_O

Honestly I just hope for the best for Cam from a personal standpoint. I don't know what he is suffering with but it sounds like an every day kind of battle that doesn't just go away.

People need to get behind him with whatever he's dealing with. He got a really nice standing ovation last night when he finally got into the game.

Unfortunately there is a faction of posters on this board that are going to take every opportunity to degrade him as much as possible, they made the exact same comments about Mckay his senior year.

People are behind him but want him to not make knucklehead decisions in life. The same for Jameel, BDJ, Taggert, Godfrey, etc.

It’s disappointing to see guys regress, and Lard is not the only one that has played as though the coaching isn’t registering. It’s not easy coaching at this level.

I don't know what he has been doing in terms of conditioning, but when he is on the floor playing basketball the guy looks like he gets tired and out of control pretty darn fast. As I said before, if you are averaging a foul a minute you are not going to be spending an lot of time on the floor, no matter how good you are. Cam needs to figure stuff out and stop fouling to get more playing time. Don't understand how fans can't see that.

so, Lard didn't play until 8 minutes or so left in the game because Prohm was worried about him fouling out? Even though he hadn't played and had zero fouls? Against Iowa he got pretty much all of his fouls late in the game with Iowa up 15-18 pts. At that point he had barely played. Maybe Prohm should play him more early and see if he can actually get involved in the game and stay out of foul trouble.

Glad to have your insight. I knew Prohm was lying when he said Lard is not in game shape. How could he possibly reach that conclusion? How could watching Lard practice on a daily basis possibly give you more insight than posters on this site?

Here's where Prohm is cited with this statement: https://247sports.com/college/iowa-...rouble-game-shape-limiting-minutes-126411790/
You think Lard is playing poorly because he’s not in game shape? Yesterday he logged 3 min.

First, I admire Prohm for trying to do the right thing for Cam. I wish Cam nothing but success in basketball and life. I hope he returns to, and improves upon the great level of play he showed last year.

I don't question Prohm's decisions about playing time.

That said, I have a sincere question(s).

If every NBA player, who likes to drink and/or do drugs, were sent through rehab (12 step programs, etc.) would they be better players once they were "clean"? Or would some be worse? Does it depend on the player? Overall would more players be, worse, make little difference, or better? A Bell curve maybe?

It honestly sounds like Prohm and Lard are on two separate pages of what the issue is based on Hines article. Prohm says he wants to see fight and Lard says he's gotta pay the consequences for his actions.

I think that would be interesting to see. Didn't Metta World Peace state that he used to drink during halftime of games?

Probably not a popular opinion but I feel like Prohm should have just moved on last summer. Right now Lard is a distraction and it’s only going to get worse when Young is back. This has a chance to destroy the locker room and it almost seems more likely than not at this point. Prohm has a huge job in front of him. Probably needs to start with the guys that actually want to buyin defensively and on the boards.

I'm just glad we'll get to see a brand new thread like this (or three) after every game this season.

If we win, it's why didn't Lard play? If we lose, it'll be why did Lard play so much.

Either way - there's a vocal portion of the fan base that doesn't appreciate winning and success and will consistently run down all efforts for some reason.

There is a branch of the fan base that just doesn't like Prohm. The probably never will. He could lead ISU to the Final 4 this year and some fans would say but he did lose to Iowa and those out of bounds plays are just not very good.
