FYI I've been setting my tivo to record the episodes that are on WGN at midnight and watching them every so often... the finale ('all good things') is on this thursday and friday night, if you felt like watching it.

REAL-ly... I have not seen that episode since it first aired 16 years ago now (practically to the day). Thanks for the heads up - I'll have to set my DVR to record those. Unfortunately it'll have to be standard def - DirecTV doesn't have WGN in high def yet, but that's okay...

And you probably win the award for being the only person on this site to see the finale of Twin Peaks!

I was a big Twin Peaks fan, and Season 1 was amazing...Season 2, not so much. David Lynch is very talented, but ultimately too wierd for his own good I think.

A series finale I really enjoyed a few years ago was that of "West Wing"...whatever your political affiliation, a very well done, well-written, well-acted show.

I know it got a bad rap, but I actually liked the ending of Seinfeld. It thought it was great, how they brought in all the bit parts from the past seasons and had them in the courtroom. And the shock and dismay in everybody's faces as they told their stories about how the "Seinfeld Four" negatively impacted their lives. Between that and the final clip show, I was completely satisfied with the ending.

I think Scrubs ended up going too long. I thought, much like the Seinfeld ending, that the episode when JD was supposedly leaving the hospital was the fitting ending of the show. How he walked past all of the patients that he had worked on over the years was really cool, I thought. Then, all of a sudden, he's back again the following season? Some just need to know when to call it quits...

Can't believe no one has mentioned M*A*S*H. Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen was an awesome way to wrap up probably the only show that lasted 4 times as longer than the event it was about.

I liked the ending of the Wonder Years. That was a great show, and one of my favorites, growing up. But, I thought they wrapped that up nicely. They didn't go the obvious way, and have Kevin and Winnie end up together. Which I thought sucked at the time, but it was realistic. And loved how he and his dad finally saw eye to eye after all the disagreements they had over the years. Still one of the best written shows I can remember...

Speaking of Winnie, I just saw her in Maxim today - girl's definitely grown up!

I believe the last episode was Kelly's wedding where she married some rich dude - maybe the Weenie-Tot heir? And that was pretty much it. I think I read somewhere that the cast didn't know it had been canceled while they filmed the last episode. Yes, it deserves better. It was the first hit that Fox ever had I think.

Yep that was it. If I remember correctly, that was supposed to be the season finale and they just dropped the series without letting them film a proper series finale.

Slightly off-topic, but in a weird way, I kind of hope that this season is the last season for The Office. I loved that show a couple years back, but it's starting to lose its flare. The inside jokes have become over-used, Pam and Jim are bordering on annoying at times, and it just doesn't do it for me the way it did at its high point (imo, seasons 2 & 3). Considering that there have been rumors that Steve Carell is not signing on for next season, perhaps this will be it? And if so, this could be their best season to make a fulfilling series finale. (Because anything without Steve Carell will be a simple FAIL.)

Yes it was. I am almost reluctant to go back because they are going to have a hard time improving on last season.

Yeah, that will be very hard to top. Need another great nemesis like Trinity. Please no Miguel Prado.

LOL - I actually didn't see it at the time, but got it for my husband on DVD a couple of Christmases ago. I wanted to un-watch the season finale as soon as I saw it.

This is my opinion of the show in a nutshell. I love the first season, the second season got a little soap-operaish. And insane.

Holly might be coming back to the office it sounds like. That would be a good thing, imho.

Agreed that this season was kind of a step down.. its felt like the office writers have been trying to find their way with the show, not sure what direction to go in.

Yup, the office needs to end after this year. Steve Carell has stated that this will be his last season, so yeah, its time to end. Bring back Holly and have them get married and then end the series.

The showed leaned on the Pam-Jim story line for so long that it didn't know what to do this year.

I dont know though... while steve carell drove this show at the beginning, it seems like for awhile he hasnt even been one of my top characters on that show.. i think it could survive without him, and maybe even thrive if that gave them a chance to shake things up a bit.

I'd give it a shot, but I'm a firm believer of going out on top. Depends on who they replace Carell with.

There's been some pretty funny moments this season, but also several clunkers. All of Michael's relationships are usually clunkers. Holly was probably the most entertaining. Just about everything Andy does is funny. And Dwight is pretty hit and miss anymore. Toby has probably been the funniest overall this season. He's just so beaten down now...

I don't know what to think about the show without Michael. I'm guessing he's just holding out for a bigger contract. I think the show could go on without him. Just don't bring in Charlie Sheen...
