Iowa's FG blocks was the #2 play of the weekend.
And at the end of the show, it was voted as the "G moment of the weekend" (or something like that) and the person said, "and the winner is Iowa blocking 2 field goals to secure its win over Iowa State." :biglaugh:

I never watch SportsCenter anymore and only watch ESPN at all when there is a game on that I want to watch. ESPN has become more and more about entertainment and less about sports.

Well, there's an "E" in the name for a reason. :jimlad:

Just kidding. I don't think the "E" in today's ESPN is what the founders of the network had in mind when it debuted 30 years ago.

haha yeah, good point. But, it's starting to become like MTV. Remember when they actually played music? ESPN isn't nearly that bad...YET...but seems to be heading in that direction. I mean, do you watch any of their pregame shows? They used to be the best on TV and now they are unwatchable with fluff pieces, poor attempts at humor (Kenny Mayne) and the talking heads laughing at each other's lame jokes.

I agree that ESPN has become more about creating news rather than just reporting it.

Kenny Mayne IS funny, however.

You just described every pregame show on every network...

Unfortunately this is true, but I agree with jsheajr that it wasn't always the case on ESPN. I used to watch NFL Sunday Countdown every week and thought it was light years better than the shows on CBS or Fox, but it's gotten worse in the past couple of years. College Gameday isn't what it used to be either.

I think the best football pregame show on TV right now is Football Night in America on NBC, although it remains to be seen how that will be affected now that Cris Collinsworth has moved to the broadcast booth with Al Michaels and thus won't be on FNIA in the same capacity anymore.

I used to like to watch Baseball Tonight......but now I much prefer to watch the MLB Tonight shows on MLB Network. They are funny, informative, and they take you to live look-ins at the ballparks as it happens. A much better show, imo.
