Spring Practice??

Thank you Austin......

you're one of the best ever at ISU. It is good to hear from you and how you're doing.....good luck this upcoming season with your team and congrats on becoming a father. We all hope that Coach Rhoads will turn things around up here, but in my opinion, there will never be anyone close to what Coach Mac was here at ISU.

I think mizzu game was the coldest ive ever been to

If you are talking about this year I would have to agree.
There was one game in '04 that was sleety-cold as heck. There was no one out in the tailgating lots that morning. I remember thinking it was just ridiculous staying out there health wise.

Austin
Always one of our favorite players you were humble , considerate , TOUGH!!< and you will make a great dad I am sure ! Congrats!!! We have a large picture of you and my 3 boys on our office wall of fame!!! You will go down in cyclone history as one of the fan favorites!!

Thanks for all the comments but ya'll have done more for me than you will ever realize....I know my parents will always have the utmost respect for the Cyclone nation. Signing autographs and taking pictures with kids was one of the high-lites of my career and a privilege. I enjoyed it more than them. Hopefully they grow up to be CYCLONES and help grow the Cyclone Nation! I know my little boy already is and hopefully the future Cyclones will do the same for my son.

Getting hit over the middle wasn't the hard part for me (being a QB all of my life, I've takin some blind shots here and there.) The hardest part was running the deep routes. Luckily we had Blythe, Jon Davis, RJ, and Hamilton to cover up for me. The only reason I got as many catches as I did was because of those guys. When you have an extra guy spyin on them it made it a lot easier on me.

PolkCityClone: I'll work on those pictures for ya'll but I don't think you want to see her right now....got a beach ball for a belly! I can see if she will put her Texan gear on but I'm pretty sure I'de get slapped in the face so I'm going to leave it alone for now. My one job is to get freakin DQ blizzard every night or it's hell to pay! HA!

Clones21 and Wesley: I've been working with the coaches to get some sleepers around this area....trust me, doing what I can to get some more quality depth in Ames. I am the DC (of all things) at a 5A down here. Trying to become a head coach as soon as I can and make it to the college ranks one day!

Speakin of cold, it dropped down to the 40's this past weekend down here (and you guys complain about the cold up in Iowa!)HAHA Just about shut the city down...pretty bad!

Any updates on the team so far?

Austin, I spent many a halftime talking to your Dad when you were playing and told him I had a son at ISU same year as you and how he is living the dream I had for my son. I wanted him to walk on but he wanted to get his degree in 4 years and he did. I miss those talks but I always will cherish those talks with him. I hope to see you climb the ranks and get back to ISU someday. Take care and God bless you and your family:yes:

Since she's got the "beach ball belly," I assume she's carrying all out front. That happened to my wife (we had our first li'l Cyclone in January) - and she was unmistakably pregnant two months in. She had complete random strangers rubbing her belly and it pissed her off to no end! Tell her to hang in there - being a parent is one of the coolest things in the world and becoming a dad was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

lol, sucks, doesn't it? I think it got down to like the 50s a couple times over the last week in Austin (hmm, named after you?). Going back to Iowa occasionally after living in central Texas for a couple years is always quite an adjustment.

Austin:

Went to practice Friday Night. WR are tall and fast, Arnuad looks like an NFL QB right now. Looked like the coaches and the kids were working really hard and really enjoying being there. It was also first night of pads so they were getting after it pretty good. Don't want to give away the farm here so I'll keep my comments pretty limited.

I think we got a good one, a little depth at DB and LB and we could see a turnaround!

Thanks for posting this is awesome.

How was Sedrick looking?

I tell you, the receiving corps looks fantastic, not to single anybody out but a couple are sore but otherwise they look good. Little Bigger, Little Fast... a summer with Coach McKnight and we're gonna see changes too.
