What did everybody think of the stadium renovations?

Did anybody take any pictures to share for those of us who didn't make the game?

If so, post your pics and show off the new Jack!

nice if they would mark the restrooms better. i walked into the side entrance (actually it is the exit now) thinking it was a bathroom and it was - but the women's bathroom. No marking on the door or the wall.

my wife said she saw 3 other guys do the same thing when she was washing her hands. So at least I was not the only idiot.

This happened to a few people we know. The signs sort of blend in with everything.

I enjoy the "new" renovations.... however, picture this vision fellow Cyclone Fans...

I had this conversation with other fans and shared it with Pollard last season...

North end-zone, two 20 or 30 foot brushed steel Cyclones. Something that looks classy and nice...

When we take the field and score they fire off with smoke ! The current "new renovations" are great by how about a signature "event" or statement to complete or "new" house.

We have an engineering school we could assign to the task. I have no idea what the cost may be for such a vision... but I do think it would be a unique recruiting tool... something that would be noticed on television and to young clone's of the future.... Boise has there blue field... Texas there "monster" jumbo tron.... Bathrooms are great- don't get me wrong... but I'd love to see a WOW added to our stadium.... don't get me started on "why do we fire a cannon when score? "

Do you think a kid would chose to come to ISU because of a 20' brushed steel tornado?

I always thought it would be neat to fill the North Endzone hill sides with a bell tower, or a building along the stands much like Illinois has. That way, the players would come down between that, and the Jacobsen. Add the towers, and bowl in the South Endzone, and our stadium would be top notch. No more "high school stadium" jokes! (That really annoys me.)

In a state with 2 major Universities... you'd be surprised what little things can sway a 5 year-old in allegiance... I do believe that. Also wasn't limiting recruiting to "athletes" Recruiting can also be in "recruiting" a new fan base- the whole gameday experience is what I am aiming my post at. Didn't say everyone would agree with my vision.... Just an idea.

how about a pirate ship in the endzone that fires cannons when we score.

I like the changes. A lot more room. It really opens things up. The patio on the east side with the view is a nice touch.

They did a good job. Looks great. Now if they can get the food lines to move a bit faster.

The Cardinal and Gold back-lights on the underside of the Upper Deck are pretty sweet. The extra room on the concourse helps a lot. I'm very pleased with the renovations. Now lets work on bowling in the South end-zone!

I hate the new north entrances. It took 2 or 3x longer to get the mob of people out because everyone had to funnel through that one gate. The new concession stands are really nice and the restrooms are improved. The new Jacobson Plaza is a cool place as well. Overall good, but I hate the north entrances. Time to begin the South Endzone project!!

North entrances were adequate for us.... Arrived 45 minutes before kickoff... I know... I was late... wanted to be in an hour before kickoff but still had no troubles getting through the north gates...

We need an earlier alarm clock for our fans ! Get there early... ! Home field advantage through out the game.. not just 3rd down and it's close. Next for stadium renovations.... MORE FANATICS ! not just "fans"

GO STATE !

I thought the renovations were fine. They did not knock my socks off, but they were a necessary upgrade. I guess I would say they improved from substandard food vendor and bathroom facilities to adequate food vendor and bathroom facilities.

Sorry to be a downer, but I was a just a bit underwhelmed. :dull:

Cyclone15 I like your idea. We need something that points out, HEY this is our stadium. And more importantly others around the nation recognize it, that's part of how you get the name out there. The upgrades were very nice and it's time to add a little touch to the aesthetics of JTS. Bowling in the south endzone must be first priority. But I like your idea, I understand no that is not what makes a recruit choose one school over another but it adds something to your school. People need to turn on an game and immediately know it's Iowa State playing. That's important in fan viewership and strengthening the fanbase nationally. Like pointed out earlier, turn on a boise state home game and immediately you know who is playing. Get a glimpse of Howard's rock and you know your watchin Clemson, etc. Etc.
