Much of our success in this years football, basketball, and women's basketball can be somewhat related to the promotions that the AD had this year. Every time he had to put people in the seats we won, and won against good teams.
I agree that this is not a solution. But he is trying to build the support to where we do not have to do these promotions to fill the stands to make an outstanding atmosphere.
I think they should do something like this all the time, for younger people who just graduated and still want to get a little rowdy.
Bottom sections be student sections, with the top end being student sections/general admission.

Actually we should have a Hilton Magic showdown game for next year. Sell tickets to people who were students here during the "real" magic days.
Then have the opposite side be current students.

Yes, it can be, but the seats sold last night were seats for students that hadn't even picked up their season tickets! If they're not going to pick their tickets up in Oct/Nov. they're likely not going to be picking them up JUST for the Baylor game.
Explain to me how the students have not picked up their student tickets when they tickets are automatically on your student ID?

My fault, I had read somewhere on here that although student tickets were sold out this year, that somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-50% hadn't been picked up. Maybe 40-50% hadn't even been registered as attending a game?
Students who didn't have a seat... too bad, so sad. In other news we are the #3 seed with the Big 12 Co-Coach of the Year on our bench. Let's do this.
Maybe they can tell who has scanned and a certain percentage have not scanned through and therefore have not gone to a game yet.
Would be very interesting to see what percentage of cards were never swiped, and what the average number of games attended was.
That game was worth standing for even if you could not find a seat.
Did the SRO tickets at one point sell out prior to the game or did they keep selling them?
I heard about this too but the stat I was told was that an average of 51% (or somewhere near that) of student season ticket holders showed up to each game or something. The highest attended game by students this year was the Iowa game from what I was told too.
Not all tickets are on the ID... I had student tickets but had to pick mine up which I did in late October. I loved seeing the upper section full last night and I think that's what needs to happen for the rest of time. It should be a GA section and first come first served just like CA. However you can't save 12 seats in the first 2 rows with 4 different coats which happened to me. I can see saving 1 or 2 seats, but 12 is a little ridiculous. Glad to see Hilton packed last night, probably the best game I've ever been to.
I think several of the SRO also filled that awkward parquet section behind the pep band. Anyone know anything about the section because it's always empty? I believe that's the section the AD uses for recruits when they come.
The section behind the band is for all athletes and those on recruiting visits which aren't hoops recruits.
And yes, they can track who had their ID swiped for games. Of course that's a bit skewed when there were hundreds of students who didn't have them scanned for some games because the doors opened and ushers just got out of the way. :biglaugh:

This happened to me a a few buddies. Said we were in the wrong line for student ID swiping and then let us through and we just went to get seats as close as possible.
Recruits, families, hosts, and players/coaches so it ends up being quite a few. I think they came on 3-4 charter busses
