You’re getting it wrong. I love dual meets and want the cyclones to wrestle all the best dual meets we can get. Nebraska, Stanford, Minnesota, Oregon state, whoever. What I don’t like is that our team is now doing what Cornell did last year. Not showing up for a dual meet because we are putting an emphasis on nationals because we finally won something and now have an ego, like Cornell. I’m just upset we had an awesome home dual lined up to kick off the season on a Friday night and had guys not show up to compete.
I just don’t think those are similar at all. MJ was dinged up and held out of wrestle offs, Yonger is hurt, Paniro serving the gambling suspension. I guess you can take issue with Casey not going if he was just down to weight for wrestle offs and then Evan sure sounds like it was weight cut, or coaches decision/punishment.

So yeah it sucks to not see the full strength team and losing, but there is far more context to it. Its not Cornell sitting 4 starters who all wrestled other matches that day.

We will be fine. We need to start the season right. Dresser has said for the last 6 months that he didn’t know what the lineup was going to be. The concussion to Chittum changed some things also. Dresser wants to do these cuts right. He has descent plans in place. Frost was the only surprise change in the dual.

If Frost had a bad weight cut, it probably wouldn’t be the last by guys on the team with all the big cuts happening.

This is really cool. And you are right. You get a totally different, unfiltered perspective of the dual. One of my favorite moments last year was when they were down at ASU and apparently stuck broadcasting in some corner and could barely see the mat. They handled it so well and it was hilarious. And then Robin came over and was fired up because we were kicking their ass and started cussing on air. Just awesome
That was quite the experience. Nate and I were in a mosh pit and could see about a 1/3 of the mat. Then all these people in the middle of the broadcast would come over to Nate and just start talking to him, and Nate is too polite to not respond to them.

Good times.

Wonder where David gets that....
