SR or GR?

Maybe I'm incorrect but I seem to remember Mangino using some two qb systems in the past? or maybe that was someone else. Will be interesting to see how things shake out. Clearly both qb's have put on a lot of weight and strength. SR around 220 is amazing really. The one clear weakness I could see in SR was arm strength and throwing the deep ball accurately. Maybe that is taken care of now with the added weight and strength. I just think that part of the offensive woes of last year, and there were many, was a lack of confidence at the qb position. Both qb's are experienced now and healthy with improved strength. Confidence is critical with a qb and it seemed like that was always in jeopardy last year with our rotating qb dance. Maybe that had more to do with injuries more than anything IDK. But I just think you have to go with one qb and stick with it unless that qb is so awful that a change needs to be made. Am i off here in thinking that CPR at times has had a quick trigger finger to pull a qb and try another one to quickly?

I heard rumor on here that Chanse Creekmur was going to be our starting QB, so I'm assuming it's him until Rhoads says otherwise.

No I'm not serious.

Pretty sure he is no longer in Ames.

I think Grant has a higher ceiling, but something about me likes Sam better.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see Lanning come in as the running QB if he's not the starter.

Completely agree with everything in this post. My brain tells me GR but my gut tells me SR. My gut also told me Steele Jantz so I don't know if I should trust it anymore.

In Jantz's defense we still don't know what he could have done with a good quarterback coach. Fortunately, these guys have a good position coach and a good OC and that could make a huge difference.

I'm warming my arm up for when both GR and SR get benched and systematically have their confidence shaken.

I don't think Mangino ran a two-QB offense. When Kansas was good, it was just Reesing. They had a second QB on the field in converted WR Kerry Meier though. I don't recall KU (or OU when he was the OC there) running the QB very often. I don't remember what they did at KSU...

I think this is correct. If one guy wins the job he'll use him, but if nobody claims it he might rotate them some early in the season. Good OC's and good offenses can rotate QB's effectively.

At least one thing is good..I completely trust Mangino. He has developed a fairly decent QB before (Todd Riesing), and that QB won a QB competition in the pre-season against another player (Kerry Meier) before he got the job. If anyone can spot and develop talent...it's this guy!

I would be very worried if we still had 'The Mess' trying to figure out our QB's!! So...may the best man win!

Ran it with the QB but thats more Snyder than Mangino...I really hope GR Is the guy, he just looked so much more comfortable in the passing game than Sammy ever did, even before his injuries. SR has the tools but when the play breaks down, he nearly always tried to make a play with his feet, thats great but he's shown he can't hold up physically playing that way. GR showed the ability to read his progressions and find open guys as the play broke down, SR never showed that ability. He's a first read or nothing type of guy. He's the safer pick but GR has the ability to get the ball to our WR (pry our strongest offensive position next year).

I can honestly say it doesn't matter to me who starts. I just want a stud at QB. A play maker and a leader that the whole team will believe in. Give me DeAndre Kane in pads.
