Agree. I think the QB took the blames for the teams troubles, but a QB is only as good as his team and vice versa. Give a guy a chance.
Most good teams have stability at QB. We badly need one QB to step up and own the job. If that happens, the season has a chance to be very successful. I think that Lanning can do this, but we need to look at his play as a whole and not just judge him based on every individual pass. I believe he is a play maker. I do not think the is a highly polished pro style QB.
Looking forward to the day when we have a great qb starting for at least a couple years and another great one in the pipeline ready to take over after graduation. I think we are on the way. Sorry, I can't help but get more excited each day for Cyclone football. Hok fans are starting to find it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. They can only dream of seeing a surge like we're seeing in Cyclone country.
Give me a play maker any day over a good 7 on 7 qb. Quarterback play is more than throwing the ball in college football. Lanning has multiple tools in his belt and I fully expect him to take control of this team for 2 years based on the eye test from last season and his hs prep career as a multiple sport athlete.

It's really the same story as Warren at RB last year... Park is clearly the more talented QB, but won't enter the season as the starter for a few different reasons.
Heck Lanning last year is somewhat comparable too. Park will probably start out with a package of his own before eventually taking over.
Campbell had a year in Toledo where he played two QB's too, it's not ideal, but typically you don't have such a talented QB on the bench either.

Remember when this staff first got here and they were just practicing football instead of installing their systems? The staff wanted to see what they had first...
Rust is getting a little ahead of himself. If he was as talented as you say he probably would still be in Georgia.
I was going to say that doesn't seem fair if CMC is giving Park a chance because he's more impressed with his package.
Yeah, because he'd be the first talented player to leave a school and somehow end up at a school like Iowa State.
I don't really care who our QB is as long as he makes plays, leads the team, and wins ball games. I saw examples of these leadership characteristics in Lanning last year that made me think we might finally have a Big 12 caliber play maker at QB. We have not had that type of QB for many years. If Park is better than Lanning and can lead our team to more wins, then that is even better but we will have to see what Park brings to the table. For now I am looking forward to seeing what Lanning can do.
