STATEMENT FROM LUCCA STAIGER

This is very bad. Very, very bad. I say this because he mentions an opportunity. That leads me to believe he was in contact with someone. If he leaves us an NCAA mess we are storming the beaches of Normandy.

The least he could have done was to wait until Saturday with a sold out Hilton and he could have Skyped from Germany to the videoboard just before tipoff...

I'm not sure what is going on in the MBB program. Something is broken. But when I see individual players make such selfish decisions I start to side more with Mac. I have been anti-Mac for some time... but these situations make me want to believe he can get it done. Maybe I just feel sorry for him?

Regardless, when a player ****s over his team like this... I like to see the underdog rally and win. The underdog now is Mac. While I am not hopeful, I would love to see him rise to the occasion and lead this team to a great finish around a very focused and organized team effort.

If I was Brackins I would beat the **** out of him in a dark parking lot wearing a ski mask. Brackins gave up a ton of money to play with him and he bails on a team with that is hurting for numbers. Suck it.

Good point. Lucca did exactly what Brackins decided NOT to do last year, but at least Brackins was expected to leave and had he done so would have been normal timing. Nothing says "pound sand" like this move...

You'd have a long walk to Germany........maybe parachute into Berlin instead.

Normandy is in France dude... but I get it.

Why are we bringing France into this?

Well he definitely falls under "lowlife" and "quitter". Every ISU player, coach, and fan should have EVERY right to be mad at him. As if giving him a free education at a well-respected university to play BBall wasn't enough, he throws it back at us like this, in the middle of the season no less. I understand wanting to play in your home country, especially when you see little future over here for a professional career, but leaving during the season is just a knife in the back. He was one of Cyclone Alley's favorites for his 3 ball, now he can go be a no-name bench warmer in Germany. I guess us Cyclones get to endure yet another blown season of opportunities in basketball and what might be McDermott's final year. There's no "I" in "TEAM", but there must be in the German translation.

We're ISU. If the NCAA has a chance to screw us over, they will. Thanks a lot Lucca.

This site is a great anger-management tool. Hilarious posts like this keep me from getting too worked up.

What a coward and really an ***. He's probably going to get us in trouble with the NCAA.

How can he hate his teammates that much?
