I thought E7 gave enough back story for 11 to take the next step up, and allowed a new arc in S3. It was at a perfect time IMo, just as the **** was getting real in the hole.

To many times in a series the back story is too short and expects us to take the leap.

This one was fun, informatative, and gave room to grow.

I researched and found out there will be a season 3. The writers plan to wrap up the story by season 4 or season 5 at the latest. It makes sense, because the kids will be seniors in high school by then.

I hope they do end it after 3 or 4. They have done a great job of building the characters and the story that I would hate for it to go to long and get stale.

I didn’t like the second season as much as the first. Still thought it was good and had some redeeming parts. The character developments of Dustin and Steve were awesome. Loved that. Loved the relationship between Eleven and Hooper.

Disliked that Eleven pretty much had no interaction with the group all season. I thought that was a great dynamic last Season. I don’t think the kid that plays Will is a good actor (unlike the rest of the phenomenal kid cast) and it burned on me with the more screen time he got this season. I thought Billy was a predictable trope the whole season long (though it seems they’re building up to something there).

I get this season was different because last season they didn’t know if that was it for the series and this season they know Netflix will probably let them go however long they want, so they can work more on an overarching story. It just didn’t really feel like there was an immediate physical threat like the first season, and that kind of bummed me out.

I agree with all your points.

Another ongoing complaint I have is that I think Winona Ryder is really bad in this show. Her constant hysteria is painful to watch. And episode 7 couldn't have been any worse.

My wife and I really enjoyed S2. I thought it was a near-perfect follow-up to S1. I was not a big fan of Eleven's solo-episode where it was clearly just a setup for S3, but it was interesting to not only see other characters similar to Eleven, but also take the story outside of Hawkins. That opens up the potential for other "Stranger Things" spin-offs to take place in different towns and even different times in history.

I don't think we are ever going to get any clarity about what the Upside Down is, why it exists, and why Hawkins is the "gate" - and I am perfectly OK with that. There are too many shows that have to explain everything down to the minutiae, and I don't think Stranger Things is going to fall into that. I'm pumped for S3.

Yeah, I think she’s a phenomenal actress but I’m not loving her in this role. I think she was better this season because as time went on she became stronger and more determined, but definitely last season it was borderline comedic.

But, at the same time, I try to put myself in that situation and I can kind of comprehend why she is the way she is.

I think they could use Dustin due to him getting sprayed in the face by the Upside Down zit in the finale

It’ll be interesting. The Duffer brothers said they almost started killing off major characters in this season but decided instead to use the one they used as the major dramatic death. But they said they’ll almost certainly start doing it next season, so it’ll be interesting to see where they take it.

I think they've kind of explained what it is...you have to go with their concept that there are other dimensions. The Upside Down is the netherworld, a dark dimension.

That's why they keep using D&D as a parallel because it has multiple dimensions.

I was wondering how long they would go with it due to that factor. It's funny, but that age group makes for an interesting story, and much younger or much older tends to lose some of the magic.

I just watched both seasons within the past two weeks and loved it. Waiting for season three is going to suck!
