Was the band mic’d yesterday? It seemed different than previous home games

Something was up. It was almost like they were what ever the band version of lip-syncing is. It was like the sound system was playing whatever the band was a split second before the band started playing.

Havve they done this before or is this part of these new crowd control measures? Seems a little like overkill for this particular game but maybe they heard some chatter about kids rushing the field.

We must be happy enough to be back in the win column that we can set aside arguing about this for a week. I haven't seen a complaint about the student section or its location in the stadium all day.

Must sit in the club house.;)

**** that. Way better than in stadium commercials and blaring terrible music.

I think the AD should scrap the entire game day experience and start over. Seems like every break in play is another commercial. Stadium is pretty much dead outside of Juicy Wiggle which is the only authentically ISU thing that we do. (Jump Around? Seriously?).

Gotta take a hard look at this and start over

We're still trying to do Jump Around? Figured that was a one game outlier. We desperately need to hire someone from outside the department to direct the in-game experience. That's embarrassing.

I've heard it many times, including yesterday right after I Won't Back Down (another stinker) at the 3rd-4th quarter break. You could count on both hands the number of people who visibly reacted to either song. It's embarrassing.

I'm serious that the ONLY thing that is any good is Juicy Wiggle. Nothing else adds anything at all to the game experience.

I don't like the student section move but it is what it is. And you know what really makes a crowd loud? Winning games. Keep that up, we won't complain about where people are at.
Yea the start of the OU the atmosphere sounded completely normal but it didn’t take long and the game was a chore to sit through. I pretty much attribute it all to our play this year and that we are generally pretty boring to watch given our ineptitude on offense.

Was watching yesterday and since nobody wants to use the lower seats in the Sukup end zone. move the band down into the bottom of it (yeah I know it's sold out, but nobody is in their seats after the 1st qtr)

So basically I'm being facetious in this suggestion but a little bit of why not also.

Worst move ever for football atmosphere, separating the band and the students. JFC, we're an engineering school, other options should have been explored.
Why didn't they just flip the students back to the NW corner? The move was described to pull them away from the visiting team exit. Wouldn't that have accomplished the same?

The big 12 made us move them, but it seems like it was about money to decide to stick them in the cheap corner seats rather than just flip them to the other side. The AD will likely come out ahead selling the former student section for more money over time.

Because that was just a fraction of the reason. The larger reason was because they were taking up sections that could be potential donor seats. Moving them to the non-donor corner opens up more donor seating which = more money.

Agreed, but I’ll add the cyclone weather alert with the weather service emergency sound is good as well. I’d like that weather service alert sound effect with some song clip played before defensive third downs instead of the bass heavy slow clap thing.

JP said it'd be 1000 less seats for the students in the NW corner.
