Taco Bell

When I worked at Taco Bell, they used 70% lean hamburger. That's so bad quality of meat, you can't find it in grocery stores.
To be fair, that kind of fatty meat does taste good.
They are not using 70-30 right now…

Also do you know what 70-30 means? Do you know many high end burger places use that ratio? That has NOTHING to do with quality…at all.

Post-retirement, I ended up managing the produce food-prep department at the request of a friend who managed the store. In that role, I became a go-to liaison for customers asking about food safety, recalls, contamination, and sanitation. I'd love to hear your perspective on how the general public navigates these kinds of food safety concerns.

Thanks!
I can’t speak to that aspect of it… Thankfully I never went through a major recall.

I much prefer Taco John’s.

But out here in Denver the nearest one is in the far north burbs, so Taco Bell sometimes steps in. The two chalupas with crunchy taco combo meal still hits for me.

Most places i know of or heard of use 80 or 85 for burgers. Using 70 would force you to start with a monster patty to counter the shrinkage and the amount of liquid grease would be nasty.
