Thanks for the input guys. I may not stumble away from our tailgating set-up, but if I do, I hope to run into some of you and we can discuss (read: bong and shotgun beers) the finer points of ISU and NDSU football.
Hey runtheoption, have to meet up with you in Ames. Have to get out the beer bong and do some shots. Let me know what tailgate lot you plan to set up in. I don't know if you remember me, but I played in that basketball game with you and Lakes a couple years ago. Remember Slick and I had the fighter pose that made Bison Illustrated?

If you get there at 5:00, you'll be fine. Probably even 5:30 or 6:00. I don't think the lots north of Center Drive are nearly as well-known, just because of their distance from the stadium compared to the G lots on the south end.

The only time they'll let people in early is if traffic flow is disrupted...but that's mainly a problem for just G2 and G3.

Mizouse can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm going to say we showed up at ~5am for the last Iowa game in Ames and they had already started filling the grass lots because south 16th was backed up all the way to Duff.

This is very much correct. For that Iowa game there is no "too early" if you want a good spot in the public lots.

For the public lots SOUTH of the stadium.

The original question was about the public lots up north by Hilton/Stephens.

Yep, I remember...fun time. Not sure where we are gonna set-up. I just saw this map this morning...

ISU folks, are those north lots (B1, B2, C1, C2) normally where visiting fans go? That map has them designated as NDSU fan parking, with a party spot in between Hilton Coliseum and Schemen Building.

I am not sure which lot you guys were in for the last Iowa Game, but My party arrived at 9PM the night before. When we arrived we were placed in a "staging lot" that was all ready probably 80% full (the first person in line got there at 4PM). That staging lot was emptied into G2-G3 at 3AM. G2-G3 was shut down shortly after it opened because it was full. If you want "prime real estate" you better get there before 3-4 AM. Just my thoughts.
