Nice to keep the hometown kid in Ames. He was a potential 5 star before the injury - hope he is fully recovered. Sure looks healthy on his football highlights.

Guys like Naz, George, Matt and Haliburton don’t just grow on trees as far as highly talented guys with tremendous culture who love Iowa State. Well, we just got one.

I can guarantee you that this guy becomes a BIG TIME fan favorite.

This is big for on court reasons obviously as he will be a solid player for us especially defensively for 4 years.
Where this really helps is building a strong culture and getting more big time recruits to Ames. Tamin has the kind of personality and buy in that will make us attractive as well as the fact that he is a very popular guy across the country. He will have a Niang like effect off the court in my opinion.

Lipsey helps with King imo.
Talent wants to play with talent
If Hunter, LIpsey, and King (let alone Kalscheur for maybe 2 years) all wind up here, it also might speak well of a culture TJ is trying to build. Or a culture these players might want to build.

Being the main guy or the only guy is not a priority. And I have a feeling that if a basketball player is NBA talent, the scouts will find him. How often do subs or non-starters at some bluebloods in years past also make it to the Pros?

So happy that Tamin committed and stayed in town/State. Too many of our recent great players have gone to blueblood programs. Tamin will indeed be a fan favorite, just for that. But thing is, kid can play!

I'll be one of first to ask; I think we are all wondering. Do we continue to go after Eli K? I say yes, but do not know the principals involved.

If King does want to come here, we will have a killer guard court!
That’s how Baylor just won the National Championship with great guards! Go Cyclones!
