You have the right order there...tailgate, game, then hunt may not be the safest option.October 28th is the pheasant hunting opener in Iowa. I'm hoping for a late kickoff so that I can hunt, tailgate, and go to the game!!

Well that makes sense. I can see that. Kinda forgot about that one how big it was.I meant 2011. So I really ****** that up. And 2011 wouldn't be bigger but it's the last time I remember ISU fans being hopeful early in the season. If we win against TTU, TCU is all of a sudden a game that isn't just about beating a top 5 or top 10 team. That's a game that is a legitimate step toward the getting to the conference championship. It's really hard to fathom right now, but if we win the next 2, that's the path we're on.

They'll announce the channel either late Saturday night or Sunday. It's nice they gave us the time today so fans can make plans. How do we know what channel it will be on? Will they decide that next week? Or will it be a regional thing which station it will be on?
'11 and '12 are still up there, not to mention '09 and even '10 had its moments. I think some of our thoughts on '11 and '12 still have a lot to do with hindsight, those were still fun seasons. I wouldn't say I'm any more hopeful about the rest of the season than with those teams, still a lot of cautious optimism regarding this year. When was the last time ISU fans were this hopeful this late in the season? 2002?
'11 and '12 they started out 3-0 but there were some red flags and inconsistency that snuffed things out a bit.
I think they were hoping for a nationally televised night game in JTS. I'm just happy we are on a major network again after last week. Why does this suck?
I would hope the Cyclone faithful would show up regardless of weather for this game. IF Game Day comes to Ames it will be a sell out no question, and that would show the loyalty of Cyclone fans to sell out in freezing temps. As much as I would like to put TCU in a northern deep freeze, I think I would prefer for this to be a beautiful sunny day so that the Cyclone fans in Jack Trice can show their greatness to the national TV audience.
And if Game Day comes here, they may make Ames their permanent location!

Where is the Texas game from 2015? That was a cold game in October. If you added in all cold weather games under 40 degrees, the stats could look way different. Some of those could have been on warm days in November. Also, that stat could also show the general strength of the southern teams in the conference. Were any of those games closer than anticipated? maybe due to the cold. Also, if weather doesn't play a part in the physicality/psychology of the players, why do you always here analysts of college football and NFL (mostly former players) talk about cold conditions and how they hated playing in them? I know when I played I hated when the weather turned cold. Everything stung twice as much, but at least we are acclimated to it. Just some thoughts on thatNovember games against southern teams:
2016: L OU
2016: W TTU
2015: L OSU
2014:L OU
2014: L TTU
2013: L TCU
2012: L OU
2011: W OSU
2010: None
2009: L OSU
2-7 basically suggests we have no "cold weather" advantage. We pulled a huge upset once and beat a very average Tech team last year. We might as well hope for nice weather because the cold appears to not matter against teams that are better than we are (exception being 2011 OSU).
I would blame that more on ISU not being a good team. We were 3-9 most of those years with our only conference win coming agaisnt KU. I think cold weather advantage is bigger when you field a capable team like this year.November games against southern teams:

Heading: November games against southern teams.Where is the Texas game from 2015? That was a cold game in October.
They wouldn't. We have virtually no home field advantage as it relates to winning games. If you added in all cold weather games under 40 degrees, the stats could look way different.
The only thing that matters is wins. "The cold weather helped us only lose by 10 instead of the expected 30!"Some of those could have been on warm days in November. Most of our players hate the cold as well. Check out their social media feeds when it cools off. Also, if weather doesn't play a part in the physicality/psychology of the players, why do you always here analysts of college football and NFL (mostly former players) talk about cold conditions and how they hated playing in them?
