November games against southern teams:
2016: L OU
2016: W TTU
2015: L OSU
2014:L OU
2014: L TTU
2013: L TCU
2012: L OU
2011: W OSU
2010: None
2009: L OSU

2-7 basically suggests we have no "cold weather" advantage. We pulled a huge upset once and beat a very average Tech team last year. We might as well hope for nice weather because the cold appears to not matter against teams that are better than we are (exception being 2011 OSU).
Without a baseline, not to mention temps, you're not really refuting anything.

Obviously the talent and coaching matters more than ambient temperature. No one has claimed otherwise.

Heading: November games against southern teams.

-My original post that you were replying to was cold weather games, not November games

They wouldn't. We have virtually no home field advantage as it relates to winning games.
Home conference wins since 2009:
2009: Baylor, Colorado
2010: Tech, Kansas
2011: Kansas, Oklahoma State
2012: Baylor
2013: Kansas
2014: None
2015: Kansas, Texas
2016: Tech
2017: Kansas

The only thing that matters is wins. "The cold weather helped us only lose by 10 instead of the expected 30!"

-It still affected the other team in a negative way, which was the point of my original statement

Most of our players hate the cold as well. Check out their social media feeds when it cools off.

-At least we are acclimated to it from practicing in it.

And without any facts to back anything up there's no proof of a "when its cold in Ames Iowa State wins a higher percentage of its home games."

When we play teams who finish around us in the conference standings, we tend to compete.

When we play teams who finish above us in the conference standings, we tend to lose.

There are upsets sprinkled in there (most notably 2011 OSU), but there's nothing to suggest we're magically some better team just because the weather cools off.

The number of variables and the limited number of data points make it basically impossible for any correlation to be made.

Planning on going to game. Prices on the secondary market are a little higher than usual so checked Ticketmaster to see how many tickets were left. There are a ton of unsold tickets even in the lowers.I will be really surprised if the game sells out.

ISU volleyball is scheduled to play against Kansas at Hilton at 7:30pm.

Tailgate, football game, post-tailgate, volleyball. That is a nice day.

Win this weekend vs. Tech... that will help.
Good weather, could too.

But dang, there's probably about 10000 seats for sale right now. Whole sections in the upper deck are for sale. I don't see a sellout either barring a huge miracle.

Is it possible that a lot of tickets have been sold as part of mobile packs, but they don't make the seat assignments until game day, so they can keep listing available seats for sale now, even if a few thousand will eventually be assigned to purchasers of the mobile packs?

No, those seats are already allocated, just not assigned to individuals yet, so they don't show up as available on the seat maps. There are about 10000 unsold seats at this point.

You think we practice outdoors with the $20mil indoor practice facility we have?
