Offense does the same thing again and lays a dud with predictable play calling. Dekkers gets abused in this one and takes 6 sacks. Red zone turnover and something goes horribly wrong on special teams. Defense keeps it relatively close until Texas pulls away in the 4th quarter.

Texas 35
Iowa State 6

I have no faith in us keeping this close or being able to move the ball on Texas. Ewers is a qb that can wear down our defense with his passing ability.
Same though I think 35 is a bit high

I'll Say

Texas 24
Iowa State 3

-------------------------------------

listening to Coaches' answers to questions on offense + the way we've played on offense + facing a pretty good defense = me not expecting the offense to do really anything. I don't expect a coach to say much at a press conference but the amount of deflecting just bothers me. Instead of being a hair off or inconsistent or whatever and saying its good that everyone is inconsistent and saying we've been really good in past years on offense -

just some of all that up in one sentence like my man Carlos Zambrano once did I know its college kids to pro athletes and all but seriously - the answer to the question on the offense should just be this Followed by we are trying as a whole offensive unit to get better and get ourselves to be more competitive on a down to down basis.

We Stinks

That said I think the defense keeps it respectable in the first half - then just gets plum exhausted. Which is my biggest worry for the second half of the season other than injuries

Another 1-7 point loss. ISU has an elite defense leading the Big 12 right now in total, scoring, rushing, and pass defense. But ISU is also last in those offensive categories except for passing offense where they are #6. Seems like another close loss.

I just think the defense will get worn down. Ewers will be far and away the best qb we’ve seen this year. He really has a great ability on connecting the deep ball, which is a weakness for our defense that could get exposed. Hope you’re right though that we hold them to 20 or less.

I'm still optimistic, but wouldn't be shocked if it's a loss or even a semi-blowout loss. I still think we have every piece we need to win this game. I actually think our 3 game loss streak helps here. Texas is likely still Texas and will be unable to get up for this game like they did last week. We'll see.

I have no faith in the offense right now. BUT I THINK Iowa is a better defense than UT and we were able to move the ball effectively. We have moved the ball all year, just not in the red zone. So if they figure out how to finish this week, give them 24 points. UT offense on the other hand is very scary, BUT, KU was one of the highest scoring teams in the country. (I get their competition is nothing like what UT has faced.) Hopefully Brock and/or Norton play the whole game this week.

OU hangover, 11 AM kickoff against the 0-3 Big XII Cyclones adds up to a late arriving crowd if at all. OSU on the horizon. All of this spells out a chance. But I'd give us a 30% chance to cover and 10% chance to win.

Texas 24-3.

ISU's chance to not let that happen is to come out air raidish with simple and effective as the main deal.

It's time the offensive players are put in a spot to do what they CAN to start with.

ISU's best chance is to try to run the ball initially and go from there IMO. We've tried the air raid approach

We have 233 passes and 130 runs. That's not doing us much good.

Depends if Brock plays. We really need Norton back too. Silas and Sanders just aren’t cutting it.

Working against this: we've won the last 3 straight
