Sonny Cumbie, who has spent the past seven seasons as TCU's offensive coordinator, has been hired to the same role at Texas Tech.

Good move for Tech. Cumbie has ties to Tech and did well with TCU's offense.

I wonder if that was a Wells hire or a "suggestion" by the AD. Like @20eyes said, that feels like an inevitable replacement for Wells.
