Of course you would.

People are equating it to this => He comes back, he's the greatest ever, retire his jersey, best news they've ever heard, he's a quality kid.

If he leaves, then it's none of that?

To me, whatever he decided doesn't change who he is. I've met him a few times and he does seem like a quality guy, but I don't base it on whether he's going to play for my favorite basketball team or not....

Does anyone else find it hilarious that everyone who was SO sure he was leaving and couldn't be convinced otherwise ended up being dead wrong?

Cuz I do

Everybody knew he was a quality kid. People are touched that he cares a lot about ISU. I don't see a problem with that.

There is nothing wrong with that. I just this msps has taken up the mantle of "pissing in the Cheerios guy that annoys most people on the board". Nothing wrong with that either. I was that guy for a while.

It's not about whether he's a quality guy or not, and his decision wouldn't have changed that. It's his loyalty to the program that makes it so awesome. If he had left it wouldn't have meant he wasn't loyal, just that he felt it was time to go, but the fact that he made the decision to stay for the reasons he did is what makes it so awesome IMO. He wants to accomplish something here, he wants to be part of a team that gets something done. He wants to win. He talked in the press conference about how he wasn't satisfied with the way the season went. He said he felt an emptiness. I don't think that emptiness had anything to do with his own performance, because he obviously had a great season statistically. The emptiness was because he wanted to the team to succeed. That's what this makes him a great cyclone. Not just that he's returning, but WHY he's returning. He chose not to leave his team behind. Any player who is that loyal to our team is automatically a great cyclone in my book, especially after what we've been through in recent years.

I want some of that!

Craig - I hope your Junior year at Iowa State is everything you hope & plan it to be. I'll enjoy watching you tear up the B12 - especially Cole Aldrich.
