The Ads are out of control on CF

I get that this site needs to make money. Trust me, I get it. I'm fine with cramming as much advertising in the right panel of every screen as possible. But today there's a video ad from Menards with audio? I feel like I'm back in the 1990's pop-up ad days.

For the past couple weeks the site has been running really slow for me because of trying to load all the ads.

Time to go to a pay-only model.

There's this little, brand new thing that probably not many have heard of before.

I use AdBlock on most every site I visit, but I've disabled it for CF because I don't want to undermine the top source of income that makes this site possible. Is it annoying? Yes. But I want to support the site and all of the hard work that goes into it.

Now I'm feeling torn. On one hand, it got so bad without the AdBlocker that I was actually starting to use the site less. On the other hand, I want to support CF. I suppose I can do that in other ways, like buying things from the sponsors (ie, carpet).

And the funny part is that I inquired about some advertising for my small local business and never even got a response. But yet Chris has time to email Hawkeye fans all the time telling them their close to getting banned. Couple that in with every page being littered in ads and I see where the priorities are.

I completely understand and agree that you need ads to make money for the site but keep them local. What the hell is a Stylish Plush ad doing on here? just ridiculous in my personal opinion
