It seems that reviving the big 12 will have devastating impact down the chain of lower level football. Im not sure that it's really worth saving the big 12 if it means further destruction. I think the best thing for fans and athletic departments is to let the conference die, and the 8 to find a new home.

Obviously the best case scenario is we all find a new home in the P4. That’s not up to the remaining 8. It’s not like any of them would turn down an invite if there was one.

Agreed, our little rivalry got kicked up a notch in 2011! I had great hopes last year that we would meet in the CCG. You kept up your end and we had too many injuries and guys getting kicked off the team in key positions. Here's to OSU and ISU playing twice this year!
I respect the hell out of you guys. I don’t like you guys, but boy do I respect you.

You don’t get talked about enough nationally for your yearly consistency. Almost always in the rankings every year. You’re probably the most important piece of this conference left from that standpoint.

Greetings Brethern and Sistern of the Orphaned 8!

I am an OSU fan and I wanted to drop by and say hello before the Gooners and the Whorns depart. Who knows what the Big 12 will look like next year if it continues to exist. Where ever we finally land I hope it's with you guys.

I would like to see us add BYU, UCF, USF, and Cincinnati. Houston would be acceptable if we jettison that awful school in Wacko. I hope we announce those decisions soon and they can join the year after UT and UT-Norman leave.

I have always rooted for the teams playing the Goons and the Whorns. Looks like this year we'll have to root twice as much with plenty of whorns down!

Good luck on the upcoming season!
Good luck to you also. Hope to see you in Dallas! :D

The AAC isn’t exactly looking like an appetizing prospect tonight.

Posts complaining “another thread” are weaker than the new thread itself. If you don’t like the new thread go somewhere else. No one is making you read this.
Thank you. It appears that my topic did draw some fresh ideas and discussion about developments in this fast changing situation.

I’d take Memphis over UCF. Memphis has FedEx, Penny Hardaway, geographic proximity, and better facilities. Not a ton of competition in Tennessee on Saturdays either. The Vols haven’t been relevant since Peyton freaking Manning.
