Yep....I'm not convinced that this year's team is quite as strong as last years. But the gap is small and in some ways this year's team has performed better. Things like the win at West Virginia and at Texas. Plus a much easier win against a better Iowa team on the road.

Last year was probably the second most satisfying/fun year I've ever had with Iowa State basketball. This year was never going to live up to that for me and it appears for everyone else.

Now get out there and win one for the Gipper!

I'm not saying really anything other than people's perception of this year's team is skewed based on selective memory of last year. I think we have more talent on this team as compared to last year and certainly in different areas. It won't surprise me if this team wins the B12 Tourney again and makes a deeper run. I think fans have brainwashed themselves into thinking that last year was a magical run (which it was) and that the team was this mentally tough juggernaut. Part of it was that we were convinced we were a final four team if Niang doesn't get hurt. I agree with that sentiment, but still feel this team is more similar to last year's team in many ways. The only big difference is we don't have a B12 POY like Melvin on this year's team. This year, that production is more spread out amongst many players.

Okay, last year we lost at Baylor on March 4th we lost at KSU by a wider margin on March 1st.

We pulled one out of our butt, on March 6th against OSU at home, and won in overtime. Kind of like last night but with even more drama

Explain to me again how last year is different than this year? And how that team last year had more moxy?

Sure looks to me like the same scenario is setting up, but I could be wrong.

Because then we had a guard in Deandre Kane who could take over a game. Who is this years Deandre Kane?

My moxie meter, the official one, that no one can dispute that only I know how to read the measurement, says it's equal. Your moxy meter is obviously a cheap imitation. Where is Zach McCabe when I need him.

I think you're forgetting two of our best players.
