The Cure to Obesity?

Hasn't there been a cure forever? That whole exercise/eating right thing. Dunno how many folks have heard of it, but it seems to be pretty effective...

Ding ding ding!

And, how can you cure something that isn't a disease. It is a lifestyle. You choose to be healthy or not.

For the record, the thread title was my wording, and it was made to be (at least partially) facetious.

The article doesn't tout it as a cure.

Come on now. There is some truth in what you say but it is much harder for some people to stay thin than others due to genetic predisposition.

I am tall. Tall people are at a greater risk for heart disease. Are you saying that my kids should change their lifestyle so they won't be tall too?

My personal cure that has helped me lose 5 pounds so far has been pretty simple. Put down the fork and hop on the eliptical.

Lifting a fork burns calories, and so does chewing. Sleeping burns calories too, which is why I fill up before bedtime... usually KFC, just pull the breading off the chicken and you're good.

I partially agree with what you are saying. Tall isn't something you can choose but, predisposed or not, obese is something you choose. Yes, some must work harder than others, but everyone on this planet can be a healthy weight with the proper eating habits and exercise.

Everyone is skinny, perfect, and exercises 7 days a week on the internet.

Let me be the first to say that I'm fat, balding, graying, and have a lot of chest hair.

I don't know if anyone said they're all tall, skinny, athletic, and beautiful. At least I didn't. I said that a committed exercise program and eating healthy will keep you in good shape. It's not a myth. It's fact.

I'm tall, not as athletic as I used to be, and have a gut I'd like to rid myself of but I enjoy bbq chips too much.
