Not surprised. Only reason he's lasted is the insane money owed. Elko would make sense. Heard a radio program in Texas mention Campbell's name...

I mean, I don't see it but for the kind of money they can offer... I mean. I know CMC is not all about the money but that is life changing - family changing money and no one can fault anyone for taking that opportunity if it came along.

I would be highly highly surprised but again that kind of pocket book is crazy

I don’t see any way A&M boosters allow a Campbell hire. They want much higher than that (Fisher had won a national championship) and Campbell is midwestern. No Texan or even SEC roots.

Doubling your pay to $9 or $10mil would surely be tempting but the thing is, the $4.5mil or whatever CMC makes now is also life changing. If he earns that at ISU for another 10-15 years he’ll have made close to $100mil in career earnings. That’s generational wealth for his family. A&M comes with a lot of headaches and just doesn’t seem like a good fit for Matt. I think there is a lot of appeal in staying at ISU and building a program that is in the hunt for the Big 12 title every year.

Oh I agree, just saying, it was mentioned. And I don't think he'd have much interest. I'm just saying, whoever they get, that fan base needs to recognize that while it sucks for that fanbase, the reality is that kind of contract is really hard to turn aside.

Jimbo is going to get paid 76 million to go away. I'd be good with a fraction of that. If someone paid me anything in 6 figures I'd go away lol. Yes, I'm cheap.

Oh, I agree with you 100%. I'm just saying. Fans need to recognize that for that amount of money... its going to be hard to say no to and I wouldn't be mad at anyone for taking it.

Does Urban fit that weird culture? Does he want to lead a fake army and have odd cheer events?

Too many class rings and mason jars (I trust no man who has/does either)
Desperate times call for desperate measures I think. I think the board would be willing to risk a lot as long as they can win national title(s). And Urban was a winner.
Using James Harden quote: “Urban Meyer is not a culture head coach, Urban is the culture”.

LSU signing BK was a shock to most.
No reason aTm can't pull off the same thing.
Who would be that shock? Swinney, Gundy?

I think Harbaugh bolts to the Bears and Michigan calls Dabo.
I just can't picture Dabo's awe shucks, praise be to God mantra going over at Michigan. A little too bumpkin for a prestigious Big10 academic institution.

When Harbaugh leaves, not sure why Michigan wouldn't stick with a recent assistant. They have a great system going.

I don't think they'd go Urban. Simply because he's a similar to Jimbo in terms of the personality being grating and what not - though he does win.

I'd think they'd go for Elko and bring him back but after that, IDK.

My prediction for Urban. He waits till Florida fires their coach next year and makes the triumphant return to the gators.

You could be right. I think they'd be fools to atleast not call though.

Urbs seems like the perfect fit for this weird football cult. He’s great at hiding criminal stuff too which should be a boost in this situation.

I think if Michigan opens the trio of Big 12 - Leipold, Kleimann, Campbell are on the short list because I don't think Dabo is a fit either. Otherwise IDK who they would go for. Those three either grew up in and or coached in Big 10 country so I think that their names will always come up , right or wrong

Weird they would fire him the day after winning by a ton. Must be a deal where the payout just went down a few million and they were waiting for it
Can't undo the 4 losses. No way A&M wants to go into the Longhorn/Sooner era of the SEC with languishing Jimbo as their HC.

Based on media reports, sounds like the A&M Board of Regents met last Thursday for 4 hours to discuss Jimbo's future. So wins over remainder of season or buyout probably not a big consideration.

Urban is the culture?

That should scare any team.
