Bingo!!!
Feel bad, have 1 thread expression that feeling and move on..
Just my guess, but i suspect Mac, the other coaches and ALL of the players are doing everything they can, but will be limited until at least next year.

we've never been an elite program, we just want to be.
it takes time... REALLY, it does.

Try having a little faith.
Go Cyclones!!
Oh ya??? What year did we end up going to the elite 8? oh ya 2000!

Never said we haven't had good / great years...,
but I'm not sure we have history of UCLA, Duke, North Carolina, and even Kansas.
I love remembering those great teams as well!!!

I went to school during the hay days of "Here comes Johnny", and we had run teams, we won @ Hilton and they played their hearts out for ISU and in turn the fans supported them (i.e. Hilton Magic)

what i'm suggesting is that we all need to support our team like then, and maybe, just maybe we can WILL a couple of wins UNTIL next year. The TEAM IS playing their hearts out for ISU.

If last night's loss, game plan, or execution didn't concern you, then I don't know what can be said.

Of course their playing their hearts out...In my mind i dont think we can have Hilton Magic back untell we get a run and gun offense, thats what hilton was all about, putting the ball up court and having high flying dunks with the crowd going crazy those are the Hilton Magic days..

If someone takes a good chunk of their day and devotes it to attending a basketball game, IMO they have every right to question what they want to after a loss.

The crowd yesterday didn't even make sense for a 2-9 team and for that JP and GM should be very grateful. Outstanding job by the ISU faithful, as always. So I can't buy the "we need to be patient and support the team more" argument.

I will be supporting and following my team no matter how bad they are, the question is will I be doing it on campus or from home. If I am investing $ and time into a game I want to get some return on that investment. When I don't, I get a little pissy and naturally begin to question some of the coaching decisions made.

I don't call for a number of wins, I just want to be the best team we can be with the pieces we have. When that isn't happening it's tough for me to keep faith in the direction of the program.

Some of the decisions being made by GM are not giving us the best chance to win IMO. To name a couple, Boozer needs most of Lucca's PT and the offensive rebounding (aka three guys bailing to halfcourt after a shot) scheme has to be reconsidered or at least adjusted.

I personally tend to enjoy that type of offense as well..
The question has to be asked though.
Do we support ISU athetics NO MATTER WHAT type of schemes our teams play? I do, and I know I ton of others that feel the same way. Maybe it's a chicken and the egg kinda thing...
If keep waiting for winning to cheer, and the winning doesn't start until we support and cheer more? just a thought.

That is good.. :)
A bad hand was dealt when Wayne Morgan left and GMac came out board, losing a bunch of talent, and u can only get so much each year. It's too bad we lost so much of it, at the very least these players would have juniors and seniors to learn from.

Dodie leaving hurt.
Taggart leaving hurt, etc.

Can you imagine Taggart playing with Craig and Dodie ?

It will turn.... Soon.

There are worse programs out there right now...I wonder what their fans think of them?

ISU just scored the lowest number of points in Hilton Coliseum history and the lowest for a home conference game since the 1950s. And our response to this should be "Aww shucks, next year will be better"?

There are serious questions about this 'system'. One of my concerns from the beginning has been the talent level. I will add to that I am now hearing the same explanation for losses over and over. 'Our shots just weren't falling'. Newsflash here: Recruit better shooters who can make the shots!

Seeing Dedric yesterday just reminded me of what ISU BB used to be particularly in Hilton Coliseum. A few fans talking about it on a message board is not the cause of all the problems that the program is facing.

Just goes to show how close we may be when Colvin and Gilstrap come in next year.. In the meantime, we all need to support the Team that is playing this so they role players can be solid, and stars can rise to the top to play with the new guys, don't forget, we have 4 new players next year.

There are worse programs out there right now...I wonder what their fans think of them?

Currently there are 7 BCS conference teams with an worse RPI than us:

Oregon: Despite making the EE in 06-07 and 01-02, Ernie Kent is probably out after this year.
St. Johns: Their last game was a noncon against Duke so it was sold out, but their previous four games were 6100 tickets sold, 3800 tickets sold, 7800 tickets sold, and 4100 tickets sold.
South Florida: Last three games - 7000 tickets sold, 3300 tickets sold, 5300 tickets sold.
Rutgers: 6500, 5000, 5100.
Indiana: Obviously recovering from near death penalty last year.
Georgia: Coach saved his job last year by winning SEC tourney if I remember correct and last three games are 6700, 8300, and 6600.
Colorado: We know how little people give a crap in Boulder.

So basically, to answer your question, apparently their fans don't think about their teams much at all, at least not enough to show up.

I don't much like the meltdowns either but the fans are NOT the problem here.

Instead of complaining, what whould u do ?
and, don't say, get rid of the coach or current players as that can't happen.... ideas? that is what a message board 'could' be used for...

Maybe the recruiting needs to be a lot better.
Ok, the recruiting isn't terrible. It may seem like all Mac has done is get unathletic, mvc caliber white guys. He has gotten some of those, but look at his recruiting classes. Hes gotten the 18th best player of his time in craig brackins. wesley johnson was a great steal. mike taylor's in the nba. gilstrap and colvin are gonna do great (hopefully) Diante garrett. lucca. booze. and mac may give us the chance to get HB. However, a whole bunch of these guys have left. Mac needs to get loyal guys. Maybe hes gotta make them want to stay. So maybe the transfering and all that crap has got to end.

you starting to sound like a cubs fan. woulda, coulda, shoulda. you can't go through life thinking what could have been - it is what it is.....currently ISU is not very good and as people who donate money to the programs and buy tickets, we should have a right to *****.

I am a Cubs fan. And I know all about how tough it is to cheer for a team that never wins anything. But how sweet it will be when the Cubs finally do win it all. At least I don't carry this kind of attitude:
