The OFFICIAL Fire Childress Thread

Although I was not a huge Dante fan, he was cast aside without even a look from childress when he took over. The Vikings then traded up for T-jack when nobody else was gunning for him. Yeah I know there was the knee injury, but i would still take DP over t jack the last 3 years. TJ could have been learning from the sidelines behind culpepper, he would have a better chance for success. Hill in SF would have been ok here but he too was not good enough for childress.

A better QB would help a ton. I am a viking fan and not all that upset with this loss. Childress will get another year. I thought they were a little conservative and that needs to change for next season.

Until the Vikings upgrade the WR position, it doesn't matter who they trot out at QB. Berrian is fine as a deep threat/#2 guy. Wade is OK as a slot/#3 guy. They need a Chris Carter type guy who can make the tough catches and keep the chains moving to avoid all of the 3 and outs that plague this team. All of the rest of the guys that they have picked up since Moss left have been #4 type or worse receivers.

AS a Chiefs fan, I watched this game objectively, though I don't like the Eagles that well. Dante was a piece of garbage, be glad he is gone. T-Jackson is bad, I would trade him quickly, Ferotte got you to this position, but he is older and you need a smarter quarterback that Jackson-he didn't realize that first downs and moving the ball down field to players like Kleinsaucer to get a winning FG was smarter than going for the gusto.

I think Childress is doing fine, better than my Chefs this year, your QB situation is even better, you have our old DE, and you will be good again next year, so don't complain. ALso, give Philly some credit, they did what they needed to do to win it. I hope Seneca Wallace leaves that train wreck of Seattle, he needs to start for a better team, and that could be Minny or KC. Firing Childress would be a very very bad move.

A good quarterback can make bad receivers look good. A bad quarterback and bad receivers is a bad combination.

and sorry to be a Nazi but it's Cris Carter

Yeah, and there arent many of them no matter how you spell it. A better QB and youd forget any perceived shortcomings. Although I'm sure they could add someone at WR too. QB!
And special teams sucks. Nothing worse than losing games because you cant tackle anyone on a punt - especially when you are punting all the damn time. I remember one return we had where the only Eagle within 10 yards was being blocked and still nailed our guy . We are lucky to get one hand on a guy out of ten guys.

Actually, the Pats haven't franchised Cassel yet, although it has been reported they will. I have my doubts about their motivation to do so since it will require them to pay him more than Brady, which would not make sense to me. If they do franchise him, it only makes sense that it would be simply to control his rights in a trade, so you Vikings fans may not be out of luck on that front.

I was going to say something similar to this, so I'll just quote it instead.

Brad will stay he has got to find a qb that works in his system T-Jack is really bad. BC can not justify him starting anymore. We need a new QB while still giving Booty a chance.

I don't think Childress is going anywhere right now. He is moving them in the right direction. From 6-10 to 8-8, to 10-6 they won their division. so they lost their playoff game. Takes a little more the just one playoff loss for him to lose his job. They spent a lot of money on Jared Allen and look how he did this year for them. They also spent money on Berrian. If they could pickup another reciever and get a decent QB they will be fine.

they put their QB eggs in the Favre basket and it didn't work out. But I will say that Tavaris made some pretty special throws after he got back into the lineup. Nobody played better than he did during that stretch so say what you want, but he's got some ability.

I recall a fair share of Daunte haters his first year or two as well...

Ziggy said today that Brad will be back next season.

Oh well, at least they'll be able to draft a QB high in the '10 NFL Draft.

In the meantime, this team needs some serious restocking. RT, RG, CB, another WR...
