To add to the weekend...

Currently there are 6 pictures of Iowa State players linking to articles on ESPNs NCAA football page. Great publicity for the players, coaches, program, and CyclONEnation.

These articles are great. I love the incorporation of the videos. Great writing and insight from Jay.

And yes, I bashed Jay week one for being too lengthy with these.

Amazing work as always Jay! I honestly could keep on reading. I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of football, but yearn to know more. If you could make these much longer, more detailed, and include more video.........

These write-ups and Kirk's write-ups during basketball season are the best content on this site. Love looking at the games through an analytical lens.

Best feature on any Cyclone website. Mostly because Jay echos a alot of things I think :)

I am with Jay on the horizontal passing game. Ecstatic about the OU win but it makes the Texas loss even more frustrating. Use that motion and horizontal passing game against Texas and right now, iSu would be 2-0 in the Big 12 with wins over Texas and OU.

Yep. I fully trust that CMC and Manning will follow this up with more wins, but to have the breakthrough year we've been in need of for decades you can't have a UT type game.

To be fair...the Texas game was only a 10 point loss. It isn't like we got beat by 20+. It is nice to feel that we should have beaten both Texas and OU though

I love that Jay asked if anyone remembered drops...lol. One hting that has really driven me nuts over the years. finally a pretty damn good game from the WR corp.

Let's give Ryen some credit on his TD. He saw Lazard's great block (and it was great and read it well taking the outside. Too many times our WRs hesitate at that time, cut inside and try to juke the S/LB.

Thank-you Chris and Jeff. That was so well done I finally got around to signing up for Patreon. Hint to others.

To be fair, or to make matters worse? The fact that it was a 10 point loss makes a bad game plan even more likely to have been influential to the outcome. Tom Manning may be the best OC we've had in a long time, but bad ideas don't matter as much when you're the '97 Cyclones going against NU in the midst of a 50+ point beat down.

I remember one drop by Lazard early on; I may have been rather negative in my thoughts at that point. It may have not been his fault, but I was still more paying attention to the 14-0 thing in the first minute of play.

In my defense, I did change my tune shortly thereafter.

True by I tstill think Texas will be the best defense we see all season and even with the horizontal passing game it would be a battle to score. Should have had a chance to win and I could have seen us scoring 21

Well, whomever that slug is should be benched. The design for that play is to go outside:D
