I don't buy the Texas/OU to Big Ten thing for a second. UNL may have lost their AAU status, but they are still one hell of a lot better academic institution than OU.

The Big Ten presidents wouldn't go for another round of expansion this early unless the candidates fit the academic billing nearly perfectly. Texas fits the description, OU doesn't.

Big 10 looking to pickup OU/UT before Pac 12 per Landthieves on twitter...

surprised he hasn't posted that here yet...

lol, just for fun

1. Nebraska would go ape ****
2. Iowa would never be relevant again being in the same division as OU, TU, Wisconsin etc.
3. Tom Osborne would have a heart attack.

Let the rampant unchecked speculation begin. I can see the B1G giving Texas a call to kick the tires, but OU come on that wouldn't even make sense.

I have to think that if Mizzou wanted out they would have their chancellor doing other things than leading a Big 12 expansion committee. Nebraska and Colorado weren't doing that.

Now that TAMU has officially gone, and things move more into what happens next, we should rename this thread "***Official 2011 Conference Realignment Thread***"

I will say this if the LHN continues, the Big 12 will never survive.

I don't think it survives without it to be honest. If LHN goes away, UT has no reason not to join the Pac-whatever.

This

The only other option outside the Big 12 with the LHN for Texas is to go indy. They have nowhere to put their olympic sports so that is out of the question.

I'm hoping OU can get a network going themselves.

This I agree with, but you still have to make OU happy and as Chip Brown alluded to are they going to be happy with $15,000.00 less a year? Lets face it Texas may be in the room with these ADs but in the back room they are also pimping the LHN.
