I really don't see Texas in the ACC. It's Pac or SEC. The ACC is not a very prestigious football conference; no way Texas would settle for that. They would easily go independent over ACC.

Iowa State is among one of the less attractive BCS schools. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that is kidding themselves. Not because of the school, but because of location, television, and football.

I agree with that, but I don't think we are in the bottom 5, or even bottom 10 for that matter. I would say that we are more attractive than 25% of teams out there, if you just look at the school and AD, not current conference affiliation.

If Larry Scott was our commissioner, I guarantee you the Big 12 would be clearly the 3rd most stable and strong conference behind the Big 10 and SEC.

Ditto.

They don't have any natural advantage our 12 schools didn't have.

The population base may be greater but people don't generally care about college sports on the west coast with a few general exceptions.

They may be the second most academically strong major athletic conference, but we all know that is meaningless now. Vanderbilt plays in a conference with professional football teams, academics and integrity mean nothing in conference alignment.

If anyone has followed TTRaider on TigerBoard, he has a source called Mondo. He has predicted KU/TT/OU/OSU to Pac-10 and MU/A&M to SEC. That is not big news, but he did this a couple of weeks ago and someone posted a summary of his posts and he has been mostly on the money so far.

If you include the article about ND/UT to the Big Ten with these predictions, then it starts to make sense. Here is what I posted on TigerBoard. (I am MizzouClone on TigerBoard)

At this point I hope OU leaves. I know it will kill the b12 but they have let this go too far to turn back. Like a&m. The fans are ready for it so, even if they were to stay, the fans will clamor for the pac12, just like aggie fan did all year for sec. I don't see any way they can successfully stay in b12 anymore. They are as good as gone, even if they don't leave this year.

Well if that happens, I guess ISU/K-State/Baylor to the Big East?

I would welcome a move to the Big East.

I'd love to see this conference stay together and become a non-dysfunctional conference. That seems more and more unlikely (or almost impossible).

My dream would be that we collect exit fees on our way out as one of the last teams standing, but it really does seem as though the conference will disintegrate to the point that there are no exit fees.

In the end, if we end up standing strong in the Big East, I'm OK with that part. I was excite last year for that possibility, and I'd be excited to see it now.

Maybe ISU and Syracuse could play for a trophy shaped like the number 4.....

Big XII has gone zombie. Since this is the case, instead of limping around looking for brains, our last gasp should be shutting down the tax exemption.

I'm starting to like the Big East more and more. I'm a huge basketball fan so that will be great. As far as football, I feel we could compete much better than we do currently in the Big 12. Also, the money isn't that far off from where we are now. Especially with tv deals coming up. I think it will give us a chance to improve our stock with a shot at landing a better conference in the future. Our other sports and academics are already up their. The Big East gives us a good chance to make bowl games on a regular basis and provides appeal for our basketball team being in the best conference while having top academics in the conference.
