How the hell is Texas Athletics 225 million dollars in debt? Is Deloss Dodds wiping his *** with gold toliet paper? Thats embarassing

Without seeing the actual numbers, with an athletics budget near 150mil, thats like us having like.. 60mil in debt. And iirc from another report, we just took out bonds based on our future revenues of about 40mil to cover our new facilities for football and the facility near towers.

Logical analysis, but when competitive egos get involved, I'm not convinced that logic prevails.

T Boone has also said that he thinks that OU and OSU will join the PAC and that the Big XII will be gone within five years.
That was last week, He whistled a different tune this week.

What bothers me the most through all of this is the amount of disrespect we've been getting nationally. In the last few weeks I've listened to Dan Patrick, Jim Rome, Mike & Mike and a few others talk about realignment on their shows. When talking about the Big 12, they've either put us in the "left out" category along with Baylor or they haven't mentioned us at all. For instance, Dan Patrick was talking about it last week and mentioned how if Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State went to the Pac 12 or elsewhere, then Missouri, Kansas and Kansas State would probably end up in the Big East, along with possibly Baylor. Absolutely ZERO mention of Iowa State. It's like, to most people outside of Iowa we don't even exist.

Boomer, you just wish....you knew. I actually have the real scoop through my personal Pac 12 sources, but I have sealed lips unlike some I know."

It's a groupthink media thing. They all have to mention that ISU is out, since that became the early perception. If someone thinks differently, they won't be taken seriously. On the other hand, when they all say the same thing, it shows that they don't do their own analysis/thinking, and they aren't really worth listening to.

This is EXACTLY why I said we should be putting out PR about ISU right now. Most people automatically assumed I meant we should be whining as loud as we can. No, we should do everything we can to promote ISU with class right now. Have you ever heard of playing to your strengths? We have plenty of them. Unfortunately, most people don't know about them. I would prefer some of these media people said something like, "They may not have the best football team, but what a great group of fans and a great institution. And while they may not have the most successful program, they are averaging 56,000 fans in their first two home games! That shows the passion of their fan base."

By the way, I was at the Insight.com bowl when we finally made it back to a bowl game. There were so many ISU fans there they had to pull a beer truck up because we drank the brewery outside the stadium out of beer. That's right we drank a brewery out of beer!

We existed for about 3 weeks last fall after kicking Texas' ***.

Yep, but the perception was more like, "aww, how neat, little ole Iowa State beat Texas!" I'd like to get to a point where the perception is that we're not a bottom dweller that occasionally upsets the "big boys" of college football. Instead, a respectable team that belongs.
