So if this is true, Missouri just lost it's leverage with the Big 12. Where does that leave us? It'll be interesting to see if it's Louisville or BYU.

Ames to Tampa, FL: 1158 Mi.
Austin to Provo, ut 1043 mi

Distance doesn't really matter to the AD after about 400 mi. At that point, it's more important to have an airport that's cheap and easy to fly into/out of. From DSM, I'm guessing Tampa/Orlando is a much easier to get and cheaper ticket than Provo/Salt Lake.

That said, I think USF is a terrible addition to the conference and is a knee-jerk reaction by fans that are panicked and not thinking long term.

I know at a certain point it doesn't matter, but I would venture to say average distance from Provo to Big 12 cities is significantly less than the average from Tampa.

I'd rather have BYU than USF for more reasons than distance, anyway, but I think USF would be above Cincinnati on my list. Louisville at #1 and BYU at #2. Toss in USF to get to 12 and I'm good. Jumble up the divisions so we can guarantee at least one game a year in either Texas or Florida.

How about UT and Baylor in one division, Tech and USF in the other. I see OU sticking with UT to preserve the RRS, so OSU in the opposite division.

How about these for balanced divisions? Protected crossovers: Kansas-Missouri, Kansas State-Iowa State, Oklahoma-Oklahoma State, Texas-Texas Tech, Baylor-BYU, Louisville-South Florida.

Baylor
Kansas
Kansas State
Louisville
Oklahoma
Texas

BYU
Iowa State
Missouri
Oklahoma State
Texas Tech
South Florida

Don't think you would have to change divisions up like that to get a game in Texas. It would most likely go back to the old divisions with the replacement filling out the south other than BYU in the north.

IMO that would be ideal but that would not guarantee annual games in Texas. I realize that is not a huge concern but I was just wondering what it would look like. In a perfect world we go back to the old divisions replacing CU and NU with L'Ville and BYU, and TAMU with USF.

I think that is a division that ISU can be competitive in and ultimately win at some point in the next 5-10 years.

Well if there are 3 teams, they could split it up so each team plays one of them in cross-division each year. ISU and BYU play Baylor, Mizzou and KSU play Texas, Kansas and Louisville/Cinci/Other play TT. Then rotate every 2 years like previous scheduling.

Of course with some playing two Texas schools every two years then the other Texas school the other years, I believe that makes sense as to how it used to be.

A&M's addition expands the SEC footprint into the huge DFW, Houston, San Antonio and Austin markets. That is justification for renegotiation of the SEC contracts to a level comparable or higher to the P10.

Ummm...No it doesn't.

A&M gets the SEC into Houston, and East Texas. Great for recruiting for the Mississippi States, and Arkansas of the SEC (more teams taking the second tier recruits from A&M, but affects UT not at all). For all of their bluster, the ags are pretty regionalized to the eastern part of the state of Texas.

DFW, San Antonio, Austin, they are all UT markets, not aggie markets. I don't know where you got this info, but you are making **** up. I get that it is nice to say stuff that makes you appear to be an authority, but you should probably stop because you don't know anything on this subject.

You are not a big time program.

I would venture to guess there isn't one bit of useful information in the last 100 pages of this thread. That is all

Not exactly sure.

The last 200 pages spells everything out. It will all become quite clear if you go back and read them, make sure you do skip any links or you may not be able to fully comprehend it.

This. Can we stop with the mileage comparisons because they don't mean anything when we are flying. It's about travel COSTS not travel TIME. Going an additional 200 miles is an extra 20 minutes in the air...not a big deal.

I like Louisville for the distance. Most fans will prefer to jump in their cars and drive to a game than getting in a plane and messing with TSA and getting rentals and all that happy horse**** that goes along with flying. I think we would see more louisville fans here than USF fans and vice versa.

I would prefer to go 12, but don't want to grab teams just to have 12. Look how well the big 10 had it with 11. They had a lot of years with 2 teams in the BCS because they had 4 non cons and some years had 2 undefeated conference teams.
