Don't know if it will happen or not, but damnit, this thread needs to get to 20,000.

Interesting article.

According to the latest information obtained by Sports by Shoganai, administrators from Texas, TCU, and Baylor are strong advocates of inviting BYU. However, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, the Kansas schools, and Chuck Neinas prefer several eastern candidates. Oklahoma, Iowa State, and Texas Tech are more neutral on the issue.

I doubt that OU is "neutral" on what direction to go.

Screw BYU. If they don't want to play nice in the conference, then let their athletics rot being stuck between two conferences that they may never have the chance to join again

No clue if this guy has any credibility, but he claims the Big 12 schools are almost unanimously in agreement that more invites need to be sent out in the coming months:

In all seriousness....if the Big 12 could pull Clemson/FSU, that would be ideal for the Big 12, and it would drive a wedge in the ACC - something I'd like to see for the Big Ten's sake.

Nothing really new in this article seems to be more of him putting together his thoughts on the stories that are already out there.

I agree that expansion is very likely to happen this summer. Since this is not a reactionary play to replace a member or delayed while a school or schools in the Big 12 explore other options, it is highly likely to happen before June 30, and new league years have started. After June 30, the school you invite from most leagues anyway has a longer delay/bigger exit fee. Unless of course that school isn't in a league (ND for example)

Things should be heating up soon and take the yawn out of the - Spring Games is over nothing till Football - season. Wait we haven't had one of those for a couple years anyway.

If we make it to 20,000, I just hope some troll doesn't get the #20,000.

I'll be irate if Mizzoulander suddenly reappeared to get the magic one

I'd be surprised if we add teams and Louisville isn't one of them.

Depends - if the Big 12 goes to 14 and Florida St, Clemson, Maryland, and Miami want in, Louisville is SOL.

That being said, I too would like Louisville in the conference - but they're expansion filler, not the focus.

Exactly, they'll be left out in the big 12's ideal scenario but IMO they'll get in by default. I'd like to see them join personally.

There are two reasons to like Louisville:

1 MBB
2 They actually covet a Big 12 spot, rather than deciding if it is the least unattractive option

Exactly. FSU and Clemson are the ones the Big 12 wants.

Louisville is a good geography add but they aren't a national or historic power like FSU or Clemson are. If you could peel away 3 schools from the ACC, Louisville would be a nice 14th school.
