I don't buy into karma, so I refuse to believe that something has to go wrong simply because something went right, like our 3-1 start.

This is the kind of time when a team gets to look in the mirror and decide if they want some challenges to break them or to build them into something better than they've been before.

Difficult things happen to every team. It's part of life. Where the team goes from her all depends on how they respond to this stuff.

That's not really what karma is. Karma is more along the lines of do good things, and good things come to you. Do bad things, bad things come to you.

I believe in reaping what you sow. I don't buy into the sad sack idea that people have been throwing around that bad things have to come our way just because something good (in this case, winning) happened. It's just a pity-me lower mentality.

I just feel that we are at the cusp of making or breaking our season.

We can either group together and become a stronger team from here or we can roll over and **** on ourselves blaming the injuries and circumstances.

This next game may set the mood for the rest of the season.

1. We are still a 3-1 team. With new coaches, new systems, new players, etc. I find this a great accomplishment. The only loss we have is to a respectable Iowa team (I know, I know...we have only played some other mediocre teams)

2. While we have had several key players injured/in trouble/quit..football is a team sport. We have a great coach and it is time to rally the troops. We have only lost a small percentage of the starters. We should use Money's injury as a call to the other WR's to step up.

3. We are playing a struggling KSU team at a semi home field (not away). This is a winable game.

4. A-Rob. This guy has more confidence than he ever has. He is coming off of a great game against Army. He is also hiding in the shadows of other RB standouts across the NCAA which he should use as fuel to propel him into the first conference game of the season.

5. Game management. I will not elaborate but when you compare the game management (coaching, defensive playcalling, offensive playcalling, clock management, etc.) from this year to last it is night and day.

6. The kicking game. It seems that for the first time ever we actually have a placekicker and a punter

7. We have already broken a 17 game road losing streak with a 20 point victory.

8. We can still hope to see improvement in every remaining game this year.

9. Wally Burnham has got the defense headed in the right direction.

10. Being a Cyclone fan even in difficult times is still a great way to live life. Our patience/support will be rewarded.

This team is off to a great start and looks to be improving. Yeah, we have had some injuries but hopefully the players will rally and come out swinging the rest of the season. The win we will get this Saturday in Kansas City will really help propel the cyclones forward.

I love being a Cycone!!
