Ok, so I am leaving for London this weekend, can anyone recommend fun things to see/do? I will be just east of the Piccadilly area if anyone knows where that is.

It should be fun except for that 9 hr plane trip.

There is nothing to do in London unless you really like tea and bad teeth.

I'm kidding, I would love to visit sometime. Definately do some backpacking if you get a chance. See the countryside.

My wife studied abroad there for 3 months, and I think she told me about some really neat things to do but don't remember because she told me during a Packers game.

I was there 7 years ago so I don't remember a ton of things, but there were some Roman ruins somewhere close by, and a couple castles that were fun to visit.
Watched a cricket match at a pub while sipping on a Guinness.
Got a tour of Parliament and walked around the outside of the Palace.
Also would recommend riding the tube out to Wimbledon just to see the place.
Oh, and MIND THE GAP!

Nothing is free anymore in airlines. Of course I have only been on domestic flights since they consider the Caribbean domestic.

Oh, and never order a salad. Its like a seaweed with dressing. NOT good.
Fish and chips are where its at.
English food otherwise isn't that great.
Did enjoy some nice scotch though.
Oxbow I think was the beer that we had a lot of. Tasted like applejuice.

I actually cannot wait to get good Indian food. You cannot get that around here, and London has great Indian.

We spent a week there a few years ago and never left the city. There is so much to see there. I'm sure you've read up on it, quickly off the top of my head:

Climbing to the top of St. Paul's
Meeting people at Pubs
Tower of London
Guards at Buckingham Palace
More Pubs
Thames cruise
Went and saw a show (Hunchback)
Going to Greenwich
Regents Park
Pubs..

When walking around and crossing the street, look the other way. I almost got killed stepping off the curb because I looked the wrong way since traffic is coming from the other direction that we're used to.

I do know this much...if someone angers you give them the peace sign but in reverse, so your the palm side of you hand is facing you. Its about the same as giving someone the finger.

What types of things are you looking to do? And what have you already figured out?

The one thing I'll say is prepare to fork out the money! London is the 3rd most expensive city in the world, and the dollar is weak compared to the pound, which makes prices in dollar amounts even more expensive. The thing is that the pricing makes it seem not that expensive (like 10 pounds for a "budget" dinner.... but then you realize later that 10 pounds is $20 bucks and you feel ripped off!)

Make sure you get a traditional English fry-up for breakfast. It's delicious. I don't know what they do to their bacon over there but it's amazing.
