I'd do one of those double decker busses. They'll take you around to all the sights. A ticket lasts you the whole day and a new bus comes every 15min, so you can get off whenever you want and stay for awhile.

I did think that the area around Big Ben/Parliment was super crowded and touristy. Westminster Abbey was pretty cool. I didn't get to do it, but if I had the time, I'd go see a play at the Globe Theatre. I'd also get a picture of me crossing the street at the place where the Beatles did their Abbey Road album cover.

Go on a Tower of London Tour, those guys rule that give the tours (pre order your tickets so you don't have to wait in line)

Eat Indian Food, it is great over there. Sooooo spicy and good

Smoke Cuban cigars

Catch a musical. Remember the maid from the rocky horror isn't a girl no matter how good looking ;-)

Get your picture taken 300 times an hour (that will be taken care of by big brother)

If you can make it up to Cambridge check out Trinity college and some of the others. A couple of bucks to get it but really cool to see

If you are taking a carry on MAKE SURE IT FITS IN THEIR SIZE RESRICTIONS, WHEELS and ALL. I was just over there and on one of the last check points for our plane the "security guy" couldn't get mine to fit in the little metal test fitter by a 1/4 inch so I had to go all the way back and check my luggage. That was FRUSTRATING. I guess each country has their own rules and how close they watch them.

Have a great time....

I sent you a PM but a few cool things that I enjoyed were the Tate Modern museum, London Eye, and just walking down the river Thames seeing all the sites.

If you have a connecting flight in Montreal RUN LIKE HELL off the plane and get to customs ASAP. Every time I've gone through that damned airport I almost miss my flight because the line is so freaking long and they don't have enough people checking passports.

My wife and I aren't big fish eaters so we thought the food was crap.

I really enjoyed the tour of Winston Churchill's vaults.

The "Tube" is the best way to get around town.

Windsor is a nice area.

Do not attempt driving, the round-a-bouts look impossible to negotiate.

Make sure you get a traditional English fry-up for breakfast. It's delicious. I don't know what they do to their bacon over there but it's amazing.

That we are planning to do, everyone tells me to do that.

Nothing is free anymore in airlines. Of course I have only been on domestic flights since they consider the Caribbean domestic.

I know first class has free drinks.... for some reason Jack and Cokes taste better up there.

Did not know that... I am going to check one small bag just so I don't have to deal with it, and just carry a backpack with my laptop, camera, and Ipod/phone. You know, the important things.

Detroit airport is my connection, flying NWA/KLM. Have had pretty good luck with them.

I would never consider driving... Cabs are the best way to go.

I was just in London this spring for school.

Take the Tube- no need for cabs. Tube will take you anywhere and everywhere.

As far as Indian food- head down to Brick Lane- world famous for tons of little shops. When I went we had a group and pretty much went up and down and bartered w/ the doormen and eventually got 25% off our meal b/c of our group.

Do all the tourist stuff- The Eye, St. pauls, Westminster abbey, parliament, Buckingham palace, tower of london, Trafalgrar Square, londer bridge, millennium bridge(ped bridge inbetween Tate and St. Pauls.)

Check out a show, theatre there is solid.

Also, if you are there over a weekend you must check out some of the markets- Portobello, Borough markets were amazing that i went too.

Someone mentioned Greenwich- really cool place. I was really surprised at how cool the area was- Maritime museum there.

As far as museums, you kind of have to go to the British museum to see mummies, parts of the Parthenon, Rosetta stone, etc. Tate modern art is interesting if thats your cup of tea, national gallery and national portrait gallery are also neat. Most of the museums are free as well!

As far as night life, head down to SoHo and grab some drink.

Check out Covent Garden as well, I saw some cool street performers at that market there. Oxford street for shopping(wife?.)

I also went out and got my pic taken next to Abbey Road studio. It is a little ways out on the tube- i think st. james place stop, but still kind of cool to see the studio and grab a quick picture.

Thats all I can think of now, but most of all, enjoy the drink! I really enjoyed my time there, but yes, really expensive.

Cheers

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. We paid $100 for a cab ride from my hotel to the airport. The same ride in Rome, which was longer, cost me $40. $250/night hotel that barely 2 people could fit in.
