I've stayed at Moon palace many times. AVOID the tour , total waste of time and high pressure. The Asian restaurant in Sunrise is very good, the Italian at the golf course is the most popular restaurant there, make reservations early. The Mexican buffet in sunrise at night is very good. Go to Beach palace for a day trip for sure, awesome beach and waves. Go to the top of Beach Palace and take your camera. Isla Mujeres is just ok, if you can get a golf cart go cruising around, have lunch at the Palace there, just show your wristband. One of the most fun trips we did was( leave early) take a taxi to Playa del Carmen and have breakfast at Playa Palace,Take fairy to Cozumel and rent a Jeep and cruise the Island, stop at the local bars on the outer highway. Then go to Cozumel Palace and have a swim and a snack, or lunch. When ready take the fairy back and walk up 5th avenue, ( typical Mexican junk) but check it out. Eat Dinner at Palace or anywhere and take Taxi back to Moon. Its a full day but lots of fun. Taxi is about 60.00 one way. Fairy is about 28.00 one way.

If you like to walk ,walk the sidewalk on the beach front from Sunrise to Grand, walk around the back side of grand to see the new stuff being built. The Gym at Sunrise is very nice. Take it easy on the Margaritas the first day, I've seen many a trips ruined by having a little too much fun the first day. One of the best tips I can give you is when you walk out of the customs area keep walking to your transportation to Moon, don't stop to the agents in the lower lobby, they are just trying to sell you stuff.
Have a blast and tip your pool staff. You are a safe as in Des Moines as long as you stay in the tourist area of Cancun. At night take the lobby to lobby shuttle and check it all out.

There cheap in Mexico . Cancun might be my favorite place on Earth. Don't try to sneak a fairy through customs, you will get caught and be Pablo's GF.:twitcy: Fairy boats are much more fun than Ferry boats. Don't take the fairy boat to Key West,

Appreciate you guys sharing what you remember from moon palace.

We recently signed up through our travel agent to have our wedding there. One of the main reasons we chose to do so is because they offered us a $1500 resort credit per room that books 7 nights to be spent anywhere on the resort. After paying our deposit which was only $180 we found out that if you know a person who is a member of palace resorts they can actually hook you up and let you use their membership for your wedding. Doing so is saving us nearly $280 per person (50 confirmed guests) and we also receive member benefits which include:

Free Complimentary Wedding
2X 2 hour private events for our family and friends
Free golf ($260 a round otherwise)
Free manicure, Pedicure and Massage per guest
$1500 resort credit
VIP Services which includes wrist bands to bars that serve top shelf booze.

We feel very fortunate to have found out about the member specials, it's going to save us nearly 12K when all is said and done. Just thought I would share in case anyone else is thinking of doing a destination wedding there it's better to go this route. The member gets tons of kick backs depending on how many room nights the people they referred book.
