Why did I bring a child into this world?

Well most of this stuff is pretty silly and annoying. But it's preferable for your child to be born in this time and place than almost any other place and any other time in human history, so he has that going for him.

Of course Cinco de Mayo is a real holiday. This is from the link you posted yourself:

"They do celebrate the holiday in Mexico, but it is only a big deal in Puebla."

Not only is it a Mexican holiday but it is even a "big deal" is one of the Mexican states

Maybe you shouldn't be telling Mexicans what their real holidays are or what they should be offended by. If someone wants to be offended go ahead. It doesn't mean I will necessarily change my behavior but me taking offense in response to their offense makes me no different than them. And there is a lot of that on here for sure

So the celebration of cinco de mayo is about white guys putting on outrageous Mexican outfits?

also, are you really arguing that a celebration and holiday are that different? A REAL holiday? Oh my.

Read the link. It says 3. Cinco de Mayo is a bigger celebration in the U.S. than in Mexico. "Recent Mexican immigrants are often surprised at what a huge thing Cinco de Mayo has become here," said Sánchez. "They do celebrate the holiday in Mexico, but it is only a big deal in Puebla."

So I am saying it is more of an American holiday than a Mexican one.

Dont you let facts get in the way of a good argument.

That may well be, though "chill with that" doesn't really sound like a ringing endorsement. I was offline last night so if there were other replies I didn't see them and now it appears everything is gone.

My other point still stands. If there's a Hispanic kid on campus who thinks our coaching staff is mocking something that's important to his heritage, it's best to just stay away. I'm fairly neutral on the tweet myself but I would have advised them against it. Too many potential negatives for a few yuks.

So now the Three Amigos movie is important to someones heritage? The outfits they wore in the movie are supposed to represent what Mexican Americans wear or wore? Wait...I get it, it was the sombreros right?

As for your comment about what Lazzard thought of the tweet, if you don't know him, or weren't personally there when he sent it out, don't tell us what he thought. Your comment about "older white dudes" is ignorant. I live here in the Dallas area, have shown the tweet to several of my friends who are a mix of white, black and Hispanic, and they laughed. Guess what, it's not just "old white dudes" that thought it was funny.

I just wanted to post this again:

Thankfully, this little scare should probably only warrant "two problematics".

So Americans made a holiday out of something we shouldn't have, so we can mock it at our own pleasure. Got it.

The "something that's important to his heritage" that I'm referring to is the holiday, not the movie. Wow.

Just you wait. I have a feeling that this is going to gain some more steam before it is all over, which is quite sad.

Really? So, you couldn't figure out that that part of my comment wasn't serious at all? Wow

Your arguments are so ridiculous, you'll excuse me for not being able to tell what's sarcasm and what isn't.

I think it's only going to gain steam because Pollard made a comment. Just should have taken it down and let that be that.

Jesus I hate this dumb *** PC world we live in.

Reminds me of all the old people saying how offended they were at Book of Mormon last night.
