Ok, so it looks like the first domino is about to fall (Nebby) and this will likely cause the demise of the B12.

The best case scenario for ISU would be for the B10 to invite NU, MU and ISU (for geography's sake if nothing else) from the B12, ND accepts and then get one more school from the East to join. Maybe Pitt?

That would bring the B10 to 16. Getting NU and ND would balance out ISU, Mizzou, Pitt and certainly wouldn't water the conference down as much as going with Rutgers, Uconn, etc.

You still have room for 4 more teams down the road if the Super-Super conferences are needed when the regular old Super Conference just isn't good enough.

I would say the odds of ISU getting a B10 nod are somewhere around 5-10%, but I can dream at least.

It will depend on how much they value TV sets compared to academics. ISU is a much better choice in terms of CIC membership than Rutgers for instance but ISU does not bring the network the TV foot print they want. Personally I would much rather have you guys.

Rutgers, Uconn, ISU, etc do water down a major conference because their AD revenues are smaller than average and their on the field success (over say 10-20 years) is below the average B10 school. I'm putting a large emphasis on athletics and football in particular because that is without a doubt the main reason for expanding.

If the rumors of Nebraska going to the Big 10 are true, than the Pac 10 will be next in inviting 6 teams to their conference, and Texas and OU will be gone. At that point the Big 12 is dead. The super conferences start to be more of a reality if the Big 12 dies, and if all that happens, I guarantee you ND will be in the Big 10.

All of this ND/Nebby/Mizzou business leaves the Big East intact. I don't think it's that wild to speculate ISU/KSU/KU finding homes there. Louisville and Cincy aren't that far and we're close to DePaul and Marquette for basketball.

IF the big super conferences shut out ND because they didn't join, I think ND allums will go to W.D.C. and RENT some anti trust power. Anti trust was mentioned in one of these posts, The Big 10 SEC and Pac 10 don't want that to happen, to much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ involved. To much greed. Does anyone know where the Supreme Court Justices went to school? They might have more say in this before this gets finished.

The Big 10 might stop at 12. The biggest thing IMO is the addition of a money making title game.

I have a lot of Iowa fan friends. They are excited about Nebraska/Mizzou/ND ideas. They would much rather have ISU than Rutgers/Syracuse. Then again, that is the fans and they don't bring the audience that the B10 is looking for.
