Breece masked a lot of this how he would pop off a 60 or 70 yard td on his own frequently.

We had plenty of games like this where one or two of his individual plays masked horrid offense.
Nate Scheelhaase deserves a shot. Young up and comer, played quarterback, knows offensive schemes. It couldn't possibly be worse than this.

Yes. There is - Campbell is a very conservative coach when you think about it and that's how we play on offense.

Manning has no ability to feel a game out and never gets into rythm.
Manning also is too predictable with his play calling.

But we need a new OC but we also need CMC to change his offensive philosophy. He reminds me of a defensive minded coach who wants to play it coach to the vest and doesn't want to take chances or risks offensively.

I don’t think Tech has a ton more talent but they were really aggressive offensively. Their offense played well enough to win in the parts I watched.
i think the well is poisoned here, there are so many problems offensively. And its been going on 2 years now. You got no qb, no identity, everyone plays the exact same defense and there are no answers, wasting defense performance after defensive performance. its not good

Body language between players and other players or players and coaches looked bad.

Opposite of defense.

I would be thrilled if ISU attempted to even throw a pass more than 8 yards. Did Brian Ferentz start play calling for us?

Maybe a gadget play here and there. When is the last time we did that - the throw to the TE who threw it to Allen?

Is there a plan? A strategy? A rhythm? Some creativity? A pattern? A heart? So terrible to waste years of a great defense. This will be Campbell's downfall if he doesn't make what should be an easy off season business decision.

Thread title is an all-timer. Good show!

Watching the other big 12 teams, we just don't have the athletes everyone else has. Qb, rb, wr/te, ol.... we have the worst units in the big 12 at each group. Our play calling is that of a team with superior talent that doesn't have to be imaginative. We are a wannabe big ten offense that plays not to lose rather than trying to put pressure on defenses. Just doesn't match up with our personnel.

We can't just line up and roll over teams. Watch teams like ku and Tech, Ku makes up for their lack of talent with scheme. They move than anyone pre snap to keep teams off balance.

The MC offensive plan requires a good OL and no mistakes at all. Short plays in succession will get first downs, unless you have penalties, dropped passes, missed blocks, bad passes, sacks or turnovers. Any of these, and the drive is over. The remedy is to expand the offensive scope by formations, motion, cadence, personnel, and by using an offensive playbook larger than 5 plays. Manning is either too stupid or too lazy to expand the scope of our offense, and we will always have mistakes due to poor training. There is no solution with Manning in charge. You are not going to execute 12 plays in a row without a mistake. Assume 90% success probability each play, that gives a 28% chance of a TD on a 12 play drive. If you shorten the field with ST or defensive take aways, you reduce the number of consecutive good plays needed -that is how Iowa has managed to get by most years.
