If past experiences are any indication, i'm sure some tough guy was wanting to fight any football player he could find. Got his ***** kicked then reported it. Seen it too many times.

Not to argue but it was the complete opposite in this situation. Moore was being cauky about being able to pick up a couple girls and the other guy called him out on it. Basically said that he like to see him try.

That led to Moore sucker punching the guy and punching his friend.

Is this some new thing the kids are doing nowadays? Never heard of it.

Also, I heard the exact opposite of what you are saying.

2 sides to every story...

If it matters, I'm pretty sure I talked to Aaron Moore at the tailgate tour in Okoboji. Seemed like a nice kid...but aren't all Iowa Staters?

I really think that the DSM Register gets information from Cyclonefanatic. Based on the time it took for them to get this article up and when this thread started, I have to wonder if no one had said anything if it ever would have been noticed/printed.

Just let him play. Maggit and Moore are the future at DE and they need the experience. Plus, ISU needs all the help it can get.

If Iowa can let Clayborn play for an entire year before a suspension, so can ISU.

Or maybe from vindictive hawk fans. These were all posts from the same guy over the last couple of days. The last one was last night. Tell me that doesn't look like he took it upon himself to contact the DMR.

"Binns' arrest is getting plenty of play in the press, but I haven't heard a thing about Thomas Moore from ISU getting arrested last month for serious assault. Did it get swept under the rug? What is Rhoads going to do about it? Why hasn't the media reported it?"

"
In all seriousness, I wonder how he got arrested and already appeared in court without ANY coverage by the Register or any other media outlet. Seems strange. Is CPR going to do anything about it or sweep it under the rug like the press has?"

"
I just find it odd that the media hasn't even reported that an ISU football player was arrested for serious assault back in June. Plus, I'm interested to see how Rhoads handles it...you know, since Kirk Ferentz does such a horrible job disciplining his players according to some ISU fans."

"
I have a feeling this alleged incident will be getting some press soon.

I don't think it got swept under the rug, I just think the media missed it...his legal name is Thomas and in the Cyclone world he is known as Aaron (even on the roster it shows no indication that his real name is Thomas) and if you don't know him personally you probably didn't know that, media included. Because usually if any player whether it be from Iowa or ISU gets in any kind of trouble the media is usually all over it.

It's the nature of fandom. There is a reason threads on Adrian Clayborn's assault will tower over threads on our own arrests. That is why we just need to stop the morality monitoring. These things will happen. Someone famous once said let he who is without sin casteth the first rock, and I shalt smoketh it.

If someone actually did go to all that trouble to get it in the press....do they have no life? We are talking about sports, right? And probably a fan of another team? Wow. Guess I don't care enough about other teams.....eh, Go Cyclones, he can go fly a kite.

In this day and age, reporters can browse different message boards for tips, leads, etc. That's why I'm surprised it took this long for it to be reported.

There is one monumental difference....

Clayborn denied denied denied....then when charges came out, he changed and said that the other individual used a racial slur.....quickest way to sway peoples opinions that this taxi driver is going to use a racial slur to a group of very large men... hmmm......sounds plausible!!!

Moore on the other hand admitted to hitting two guys on Welch....sounds to me like alcohol was involved - that would make the matter worse for Moore....so we all know he did it too.....

To me, either situation should be handled the same. Both are assaults - Clayborn did it - every hawk fan knows he did it....Moore did it, he already admitted he did it.

So, whats fitting, i'm not going to change my opinion because its a Cyclone this time, anything as serious as assault should land a player a 4 game suspension and therapy!!!
