My first post was in a thread I created about how Mike Stoops would be a good replacement for Chizik. Then Jeremy (old CF owner) got on my balls about how that was a terrible idea.

That was kind of intimidating. But I guess he had more foresight than me..

  • Go to advanced search.
  • Put your username in the "search by user name" box.
  • Change "Sort Results by" to "Last Posting Date" and "in Ascending order"
  • Click the radio button "posts" under "Show Results as".
  • Click "Search Now"

Unless you perform necromancy this will put your first post on the first page of the search. Look for oldest date. Enjoy!

Thanks -- tried to rep you for that, but I used my current rep on something else that made me laugh

With thanks to Agronomist for the advanced search tips, I found mine, from early 2010 — below.

As I expected and feared, it was about 5,000 words long, used lots of quotations and parentheses :twitcy:)

(I learned quickly to use extra line returns!)

Re: What are your realistic expectations for Iowa State MBB?
In a typical 10-year period, my expectation would be:
NCAA bid 7 years, with occasional deep run
Finish in the top third of the conference in 4 of 10 seasons
Be a legitimate Big 12 title contender every few years
Even in rebuilding seasons, be able to knock off power teams on occasion, especially at home.
Be able to win on the road with some frequency.
I also am willing to sacrifice a few wins on average each year if the program is run well -- minimal off-court concerns (legal/academics), avoiding revolving-door of recruits, playing by the rules, building roster mostly from the ground up (not padding the success by one-and-done's or jucos -- although augmenting with such talent is OK).
That sounds like I'm putting fuddy-duddy emphasis on "integrity" (and there's nothing wrong with developing "good-person" values in athletes) but those things help program stability — it could save you from losing a star player one day because of grades, or landing the school on probation, among other things.
But it's easier to go 24-10 instead of 28-6, as opposed to 19-13/15-17, for example

CycloneEric was the first response I got to my first post — and seemed to approve:
"I think this is reasonable."

My first post was my first thread and my first highlight video...
http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/cf-archive-bin/13591-isu-vs-iowa-highlight-reel.html

I had so much more free time back then... as you can tell from my post count and the fact that I haven't been around much in the last couple of years.

SUPERDORF!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REMEMBER YOU!

I also remember such classic guys as herbiedoobie, MontyBurns, etc...

Oh the old days.

And when ISUFan22 used to post, you know, every minute.

I had to actually look up my first post, I figured I must've been annoyed with something bad to finally sign up for an account to post something, I was right. It was a thread talking about how Tiller was a better qb than Arnaud since he won the 09 Nebraska game, I had to comment that our defense and Nebby's offense won us that game not our offense.

I posted about the video of "Double Rainbow Guy's Cousin." Apparently thought that it was so funny I couldn't go without saying how funny it was

EDIT: Video is actually titled "Kid Freaks Out Over Maybe Tornado." Still makes me giggle.

My first topic in 2006 was:

"I am so happy they've become PPV only. I never knew about Fanatic before last week and it's so much better then Cyclone Illustrated."

Ah yes, good 'ole Monty... here's his first post:

When you've got 15 or 20 convicted criminals on your team already, what's one more?

and his last post:

It's not even close. This is as bad as it gets. Very embarrassing for the dozens of Minnesota football fans.
