The Beatles White Album
The Eagles Hotel California
Grand Funk Railroad - Mark Don and Mel

What? You kids don't know Grand Funk? The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The competent drumwork of Don Brewer?

I realized I couldn't do this. I could have dealt with the movie one. But limiting to 3 albums... My list originally included

The White Album - Beatles
Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
The Black Album - Jay-Z

But then I wanted to include Pink Floyd. And then I wanted Greatest Hits from both Boston and Journey. Then I realized I don't have any late 90s early 2000s pop punk/rock like Blink 182, Third Eye Blind, Jimmy Eat World... which is probably my favorite style of music.

And then I realized out of everything I listed so far, I have only deliberately listened to one of those artists in the past month, and that I regularly switch between styles and genres and eras.

I'm still struggling with the choices I made.

The Black Keys - their greatest hits album that hasn't been made yet. If that's cheating, then I'll take the Brothers album.

The Beatles - White album

Rage Against the Machine - Battle of Los Angeles

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
The Beatles - Abbey Road
U2 - Joshua Tree

This list is very, very solid.

I'm having a whole bunch of trouble with this. The above three are very good. I'd think "Who's Next" by the Who, as well. "Guero" by Beck, "Under the Blacklight" - those are the two most "recent" albums (say of the past decade) that I've worn out. Man, I forgot "White Blood Cells" by the White Stripes. I really can't do this.

Tough to do this list. Kept wanting to cheat and put in Greatest Hits albums on here. Sorry Social D and 311, but here are mine:

Pearl Jam -ten
Metallica-Black album
Toad the Wet Sprocket - Fear

I can still listen to all 3 beginning to end without wanting to skip a song. Hard to leave off Zeppelin ,Beatles, Stones,Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash, etc.

I can't do it either. I can pick my 3 "favorite" albums but I can't pick 3 I'd live with the rest of my life.

I'm thinking some of us are going to need to gather to share. I love my three and then I saw Pink Floyd, Boston, and others. No one has mentioned Deep Purple Machine Head...that rocks from beginning to end!

It was very hard to leave off a Bowie album. And The Police. And Kraftwerk. And looking through my itunes, about 30 other artists.
